Do you recommend hot oil treatments for locs??

I have been doing hot oil treatments monthly for… about the last 8+ months on my 11 month old locs. I definitely put it on the hair… Feels great for those first two weeks after my retwist. Then I wash my hair and scalp. This is definitely a debatable topic. But we’ll see if I change my process at some point in this journey.

Remember, all oils coat the hair. You don't need to coat dry and brittle hair.

this! haven't used oil in a 1 1/2 years. I'm about to get locs though so I'm looking for moisturizing products

Meh. Been licensed over 20 years. 61/2 loc’d Waist length hair. I think it’s the same as when your hair is out. Just do it correctly

So do hot treatments on the scalp and steam treatments for the locs. Will that be ok?

Seems like that’s her recommendation. I definitely want to try steaming.
