I loved the underlying theme of redemption that ran throughout the whole series. To see Xanatos & Fox come to be part of the clan was very moving. I love how they expressed that Demona was her own worst enemy and all she had to do was let go of old hate & she could have had redemption too. This show went a long way in forming my character too. I used to have trouble reading, but the characters loved it so much it inspired me to stubborn through my difficulties & I ended up being in A.P. English classes all through middle & high school. Very accomplished for a cartoon...

Demona was definitely one of the top 10 90's female villains.

Gargoyles was the OG epic show from Disney and I loved it.

Elisa was one of the only characters that looked like me as a child. That was the main reason why i loved the show. I would imagine i was the one that had gargoyles that had friends and went on adventures lol One of the best shows ever and it makes me so happy to hear more people loved it too .

Strong female lead who happens to also be a minority, episodes not afraid to discuss heavy issues like both sides of the gun debate, bad guy who's not really bad, just plays by his own rules based on what's best for him... I remember years back, i was at a friend's house and it was around Halloween. Toon Disney at the time aired all yhings Halloween and spooky and i think a large chunk was this show. I'll never forget staying up and watching it.

I love the entire series, even season 3. It has its own charm. And the clone episode is good, too! I honestly teared up at the last episode, I didn't want it to end because it's all awesome to me!

I started watching gargoyles because I loved all the references to Shakespeare and I love any cartoon that has an ongoing storyline.

My favorite part of the gun episode was the fact that it actually impacted the story afterwards. Most cartoons at the time that tried PSA episodes would ignore them for the rest of the series, but Eliza spends the next few episodes in a sling recovering from her wound, she's given a partner out of concern for her welfare, and Broadway keeps a low-key hatred for guns for the entirety of the series. It was so amazing to see events have such repercussions in a kids show. As for season 3, I admit I hated it, and I have a reason for that. One of the things Gargoyles was best known for was interweaving its storylines. The "previously on Gargoyles" introductions are iconic for the series because they were necessary, you never knew WHAT would get picked up again, or when. The problem I have with season 3 is while the episodes in the season (with only one exception, the season premiere) were never acknowledged later in the season. This meant that the final season of this incredible ongoing narrative was comprised primarily of isolated episodes that could arguably be viewed out of order without losing anything. That shift is what I hated, even more than the worst episode plots to come out of it (Broadway as a movie star springs to mind. So cliche...).

My favorite episode of Gargoyles is the series finale Angels In The Night, in which the gargoyles finally earn New York's trust. There was also an episode in which Xanatos redeems himself in exchange for the gargoyles having saved his and Fox's infant son Alex.

I love this show with a passion! One of my favorite shows as a kid, watch it every time it came on TV and kept watching reruns into my 20’s. I loved the macbeth aspect about it. Such a well written cartoon and great character. I always thought Eliza was Mexican but that makes more sense seeing her family.

It somewhat irked me that Elisa has solo episodes with Goliath and Broadway, I think there was at least one episode that centered on Lexington and Elisa solving a problem. At the very least she develops a somewhat big sisterly companionship with him, and there is some respectful understanding between Elisa and Hudson. But there really isn't any connection between her and Brooklyn. Yes, Elisa comes up with a solution to Brooklyn's mess in Temptation and during the World Tour Arc she does say she's going to contact Matt Bluestone so he can let Brooklyn know where they are. But mostly there is little to no interaction. It's like the characters didn't really know what to do with each other aside from acceptance that Elisa is someone who is seen as a friend. Perhaps the writers didn't really have an idea how to present an episode or any reason for them to interact. Still it feels a little off that his rest of the Gargoyles establish their own friendly relationships with Elisa, and Brooklyn is kinda just there.

It was perfect before Disney decided to cut all the violence.

My brother watched the show. Back then I was like 4 or 5, too young to get anything about it, so I can't really say that I watched it. It was just a show my brother watched. But the style of it, the look of the gargoyles impressed me so much I never forgot about it. I even remember running around pretending to be a gargoyle. It looks just so amazing. So I was really happy when I saw that it was on disney+! Finally I know what it was all about xD But amazing show! Great characters, intelligent subtext and themes, great literary and mythical references, loved it!

The only other show he would watch with me was X-Men because he has a massive man crush on Wolverine (I was always intent on marrying Gambit & was super disappointed he wasn't represented well in the movies...)

Greg Weisman says on Twitter if we binge on Disney+ we have a good chance for a revival! Do a video and rally the Gargates! This show was unforgettable; it's willingness to explore darker themes was rare in animation of the time. I think Gargoyles will live again!

I think the gun episode worked because Broadway was such a comedic character. He was so goofy and child like that he would be the one to play with a gun. The others would leave it alone because even if they don't know everything about 90's New York they know thats her weapon not a toy.

Gargoyles came out on my 9th birthday and I have always been a major fan. The show was solid. I always grew up cynical because I appreciated all these gems at a young age and since have high standards.

I love all 3 seasons 💜(they all mean somethingto me), and the comics are just different timelines , most comic book characters have alternate timelines so the Gargoyles are no different . Now I want a live action retelling !!!!

There were repercussions from that episode with the gun too! In the future any time you see Elisa taking off her gun she is putting in it a lock box. She never just hangs it with her jacket and holster on the rack again.

I heard originally before Keith, Patrick Stewart was asked to voice Goliath, but Disney couldn't meet his price.

I would say, gun responsibility and proper safe usage and storage is a better arguement than trying to ban all guns. I appreciate how Gargoyles went the route it did. Guns aren't the issue, it is a matter of are you mature enough and have the responsibility and knowledge of how to use guns safely and for the right reasons (i.e. protecting yourself, loved ones, and your home from those who wish to do harm).

What was very interesting to me now since I've gotten older. The Avalon Clan were based off characters in the bible. But the other thing was they stood. Gabrielle, Ophelia and Boudica.

Demona is one of the complicated villain in Disney, her story is really interesting. She was Angel of The Night, her daughter is Angela, their names are designed seriously. I like the moment that Young Demona said she didn’t want to be Future Demona, she used to be kind, but turned into evil by hatred. Though she is evil now, she still wants to protect her daughter, it makes her more humane.

I hope someday this cartoon show series of (GARGOYLES) might get rebooted. An the reason why is because when I was watching it when I was a kid I truly enjoyed watching it, and to add I thought it was fantastic, and yet I did not like the way the cartoon show had ended.

The curse goes if either one kills the other they die and the pain only happened if they were close to each other. And Genesis Undone was my favorite episode from season 3. What broke me was when Thialog told Goliath "how he missed giving him grief" I was done.

I Loved Gargoyles!!! My take on Season 3 was, "it's okay, it's just So Season 3." I just think that Gargoyles started off way too strong so Season 3 never had a real chance to be anything really Fantastic, & Season 2 was the start of it's slipping & Season 3 was just the figurative dagger in the coffin really

Gargoyles was my Jam as a kid, and as an adult. I have 3 tattoos from Gargoyles (Phoemix Gate, Eye of Odin, and The Gramoram) I own it on DVD, bought them digital(save for season 3. Not wasting my money), own all the follow-up comics, and now that it's on Disney+ it's my go to for playing in the background nust to hopefully get views up and get a sequel series. That show was ahead of it's time. It'd be over like Rover... or Bronx... or Boudica nowadays.

What an AMAZING show! the only other ones that I can recall being as well-written, and not-dumbed-down-for-kids, are Batman, Batman Beyond, and EXO-Squad, at least as far as U.S. animation goes. EXO-Squad in particular was some serious $#!+, and it hurts my heart that almost nobody even knows it exists... Anyway, props for giving props to Gargoyles, and I hope that Disney does something good with this awesome franchise, especially since they have the Disney streaming service available now.

I finished Gargoyles for the first time yesterday and holy shit this show was good, Xanatos is the best Disney character now. Obsessed with Xanatos having basically a god saying to him "you get one wish or me as a human for eternity" and he chooses Owen AND WANTS TO BE IMMORTAL, you can't tell me these things aren't linked.

Here's something you guys should talk about: Animorphs. I've never read the books, but heard they were pretty good. The series was good as well even with the limitations with the budget tv had at the time.

The show had some production issues as time went on. This was an example of disney throwing money at something first and then just not giving a shit after a while. The production crew had to keep outsourcing to different korean animation studios which made the animation inconsistent, and sometimes they padded the show with obscure stories just to fill in for the 52 season episodes. But when this show was good, it was really good, it had some really fine episodes spotted around. Even Batman the animated series can't claim it was perfect all the time.

Captain Planet,Gargoyles,Animaniacs, the Magic School Bus, tiny Toons adventures,Freakazoid(Dexter Douglas),Batman the animated series, superman the animated series, justice league and justice League Unlimited or my favorite TV shows growing up alongside SpongeBob and Disney’s house of mouse!

I admit I did like some episodes of the Goliath Chronicles, but I don't really see it as a Cannon Season 3. As you also may have noticed during the Genesis Undone episode, Goliath and the other Gargoyles were not immediate on wanting to help the clones. When Talon arrives with Hollywood to seek help, Goliath is like 'Well the clones haven't been a problem to use since they started living in the labyrinth so I'll get the rest of my clan and we will hear them out.' Then when all the gargoyles learn what condition the clones are in and learn that they are pretty much dying. The Gargoyles then confer amongst themselves and the Trio are automatically "We don't need to help them, what do we care if they bite the dust?" And Angela just tells them to take another look which they do, and they realize that the clones really are seriously suffering and that leads them to agree to help. What I like about the Comics is that the clones are shown as allies somewhat. It's more that both groups of gargoyles do assist when needed, but majority of the time both groups want to keep to themselves. Initially, when they appear in the comics they still follow Thailog because they haven't completely broken free from his influence. Delilah in the meantime is on a date with Goliath at the Halloween party the Eyrie building is throwing, because while Elisa does love Goliath, she also knows there are things she can't have with him so she tells him that they should seek others. Then during the attack on the Eyrie by the clones, Deliliah confronts Thailog and says "You used me for your own ends" then turns to Goliath and says 'And you used me to.' then she says the Labyrinth is where I feel free, so she asks the other clones if they are with her. Brooklyn's Clone, Malibu is the first to agree to follow her while Hollywood and Burbank follow suit. Brentwood is the only one who says "No, you guys are stupid. I'm going to follow Thailog." and takes off with him. The purpose of this moment is to parallel the episode future tense because in that episode Goliath has a vision caused by Puck that shows him that Brooklyn and Demona will become lovers, and Lexington would become evil. Because at the end of this comic Brooklyn notices Malibu and Delilah are hugging each other (not lovers embrace, but certainly in a way that suggests they have chosen to be a couple) and Brooklyn like "Oh you have got to be kidding me." Since Delilah is a clone hybrid of Elisa and Demona that covers the Brooklyn/Demona ship. While when Brentwood says he's going to follow Thailog, Lexington grabs Brentwoods shoulders and says "Dude, you're making me look bad here."

I remembered only a few clips from Gargoyles. I was four and couldn’t comprehend it’s brilliance. Until I rediscovered it about a decade ago. As for S3, I view as another timeline of the Gargoyles universe. What I consider S3 and beyond is in this link below. So, the reason why season 2 was a bit up and down quality wise and they had these long stretches of stand a long episodes is because after how well season 1 did, Disney ordered another season but instead of like the first season where they ordered 13 episodes to be made in 10 months, the ordered 52 episodes to be made....also in 10 months. The reason why season 3 is so unpopular isnt just because Greg Wiseman said he disliked it, its because the storylines were far far simpler and dumbed down and the animation quality dropped drastically. Only the first episode of season 3 directly involved Greg Wiseman before he was removed, essentially. Also season 3 has an X Men vibe because a lot of the X Men crew worked on it, but they basically had no real information about the show or I think access to the character models? So its off. I do like the clone episode though, and the episodes with Xanatos, Fox and Alexander.

Xanatos, played by Jonathan Frakes, was originally Xavier, who they thought would be confused with Charles Xavier who in the future would be played by none other than Patrick Stewart.

Sailor Moon Crystal remains me of Young Justice and Gargoyles because it's darker and more serious than the original, Crystal shares the same things that Young Justice and Gargoyles have like the strong deep storyline their strong romance, friendship and most importantly family.

I remember Gargoyles but I only remember when Broadway shoot Elisa Maza. I also remember in one episode when the Gargoyles are racing to the tower before sunrise and one of them doesn't make it in time gets turn to stone and smashes on the ground that's all I remember

Even if you like The Goliath Chronicles, you cannot tell me that you actually enjoyed that episode with the shapeshifter and the really fucksauce animation.
