Macys was part of a mall addition to the mall built in 1989/1990 with 30 more stores. The food court was where the old Lansburgh/Korvettes anchor. The old Garfinkel’s subdivided into sports authority and the lower level was a Crown Books or books a million and Then turned into a today’s man.

Ok now this is how malls should be treated and re developed. Not only did the mall had a couple of interesting anchors to begin with but it was eventually becoming a dead mall which the developers said nah and actually made something beautiful and enjoyable for the community. most think malls are dead which they are not clearly with love, effort, money and dedication an old shopping mall can be transformed into something that many people will gladly come back to

Oh my God, Korvette🤣. I caught the last year of that store…we moved to Springfield in 1979 when I was 8. But until I watched this video, that store had disappeared from my mind entirely. And today, the memory of that name clicked back on, after 44 years😂.

My friends and I used to skip school and go play video games at the Time Out in the 80s. Good times !

I worked at York Steak House in the mid 80s, I saw "Top Gun" here and on my break I went to Time out to play Dragon's Lair, Altered Beast and Mike Tyson's Knockout, by the way there was not just one Time Out there were two! One at each end of the mall

I grew up in the area when Springfield Mall was first constructed. You would not believe how many high school drug deals went down in Time Out 🤣 Good times!

I was always wondering why the Target at the Springfield Town Center mall had two stories: it was because it used to be a Montgomery Wards! On a side note: how do you keep making videos covering locations in places I either live in, or used to live in? I’m not complaining; I just find it odd and interesting!

Why do all the newer malls have that same white decor? Everything is just white walls and glass. Is it supposed to look modern and all Space-agey and futuristicy? They just look bland and samey.
