Point well made Craig. Here here for common sense and fair comment. Let’s face it, if LR didn’t rip people off for spare parts more people would consider them. There’s a place for Britpart for sure, it just needs weighing up thats all.

Everything I’ve bought from them has been ok and tbh without them most land rovers would be inoperable because owners couldn’t get parts or couldn’t afford parts from the boutique specialist manufacturers.

Never had an issue with any Britpart parts I've used on numerous series trucks over the years to be honest, you make some very valid and generally ignored points in this video. Super channel mate!

Thanks Craig ... really well said , everything has a place and if they were not here everything would be more expensive... it’s just sensible pay for quality and precision on the parts that matter .... some of the so called top end suppliers aren’t all that ... I have phoned 4 times and emailed G B springs for a quote on springs and they still haven’t got back ! So on to the next ! Keep it up please ! Cheers Matt

If I was on a real tight budget I would use britpart brakes but like you said you get what you pay for but when it comes to life or death stuff I buy the best I can afford i do use other britpart stuff with no problems at all

Fair enough. Bearmach, similar to Britpart in my opinion.

I'm on the fence. I live in the US. I do most of my Land Rover parts shopping with RimmerBros, John Craddock or LRDirect. For important parts I try to buy genuine. For routine wear parts I'm open to oem. I avoid buying the cheapest version of Land Rover parts for two reasons: 1) I've had fitment issues with cheap aftermarket replacement parts. Bolt holes not lined up correctly. Missing gaskets or o-rings. Etc. 2) I feel like you get what you pay for. Some jobs on a Land Rover are a pain in the ass. Like the crankshaft position sensor on Discovery 2 petrol. I don't want to replace it twice in short time. I'd rather pay more money for a better quality part that I believe will last much longer. Conclusion: I totally understand the budget argument. I also understand that genuine parts are not always superior. And no harm to anyone who depends on cheap replacement parts. But I would like to argue that the money you save up front from buying the cheapest variant of replacement parts, will come back to haunt you later on if/when those cheap parts fail prematurely. The consequence will be another breakdown and having to buy that part again. If you are paying a shop to do the labour then the money will add up very quickly if you frequently return to the shop to have the same cheap parts replacement again and again because they fail prematurely. Furthermore for those who use their Land Rovers for long overland trips or those who do serious offroading with their Rovers, having strong quality parts is critical. Just my thoughts. PS: I agree that nobody should be treated differently or cast out of the community because of the brand of parts they use. At end of the day who cares. Live and let live.

I agree that in most case you get what you pay for but sadly the quality of branded parts isn't always what it used to be everything nowadays is built to a budget rather than a standard so its hard to know what you're getting. I've had budget and branded parts side by side on the bench and they've been identical parts with big£££ differences its a minefield. I'm lucky I buy enough parts to of figured out what not to buy. To sum up my opinion on it, for major parts like engines, brakes, bearings and critical life or death parts buy branded parts for everything else buy what you can afford sometimes its a false economy but you've only got the cash you've got. Cheers 🙂👍

Britpart is the only part i can buy in shops in my country. Otherwise, I have to order from uk wear i will pay literally half the price for tax and shipping. Despite that, we dont have tax in my country i still have to pay.

It's a nightmare trying to get parts outside of the UK even though most parts are made abroad, you can only use what you can get. 🙂👍

With some parts yes, but most are now a lot better quality than they used to be and the more expensive brand parts are worse quality than they were, I've had new genuine land rover parts fail within days and the britpart I replaced them with are still going strong years later, also land rover themselves use britpart. Some of the problem is you only hear the bad story's and not the millions and millions of good ones, if they were that bad how have they been trading for over 40 years?. 🙂👍

Hi guys , got to say that the last year or so I totally agree Britpart has improved massively. They seem to really now care about quality and they do offer 2 year warranty on almost everything now. Cheers guys

"S#it#art, guaranteed for two years"?, fail before fitment. For instance, two wiper arms and blades,......had to grind down the wiper arms to fit. Nuts and bolts probably OK, but everything else is CHEAP CHINESE, INDIAN rubbish.

Granted everybody has a britpart story but I've had genuine main dealer parts fail before fitting, if you sell enough of something you will have some duff parts, that said I still won't use there engine and brake parts just to be safe. 🙂👍
