Street Outlaws' Doc took everyone by surprise at the 2017 PRI show by revealing a brand new engine for the Street Beast.
The 959ci (that's 15.7L folks!) engine will feature a five-stage, Haltech-controlled Nitrous injection that should give Doc a competitive edge against The List's top racers.
One thing's for certain - the next season of Street Outlaws is gonna be very interesting indeed!

So many people hating on doc, if any of you are real racers or have ever really raced you should now doc and everyone else from the show are no fucking joke period. If you haven't pissed Pat Musi off yet Doc he's the Nitrous Know how man to get that 959 swallowing huge amounts of NOS. If you have to pay a chassis builder to come help you figure out how to get the power to the pavement, do it even if you've got to pay him, just do it so you can get ahead of the hard learning curve that's associated with that end of it. I'm proud of all you 405 guys cause I'm an Okie

I've heard of crate motors that are 770,880 and 1000 ci. Wandered when I'd see those in drag racing. The 770 puts out o er 850hp i believe. Got it from outboard boat motor technology

I think Monza did the perfect power plant for maxing out the street and no prep for the show. 481x stage 4 with twin turbo. I believe it's the same motor Ryan (Fireball Camaro) uses so it'll be interesting. I just don't see Doc climbing the list past these monsters even with this motor. From what I've heard, nitrous isn't anywhere near as flexible as turbos for tuning to the road. That's what I think Doc's problem is instead of a lack of power bc none of those "top of the list" turbo cars are putting down anywhere near their max power but they are very good at managing power and making driving easier on the driver but need a skilled tuner like Chief or the guy helping Chuck tune his car. On that note I wonder who Monza will get to tune his car? Willing to bet his son will take an interest in learning and doing his dad's tuning later down the line....but he'll definitely have a dedicated guy for awhile like Chuck does now.

I remember when 500 CIDs were considered to be huge, however this beast is almost twice that displacement. At this rate, I can't wait to see what the following season will bring. Can 1000+ CIDs be on the horizon for these cars?? Time will tell.

Haltech, -you guys make some world-class stuff. Doc, I love the new motor, and I totally understand how it feels when you are on a low-streak, -but how are you going to put this much power down? The car is going to need several shakedowns, and even after that, things are getting downright scary. Mad props for taking things to this level, but the car is not ready for this kind of power (obviously you have a plan that is under wraps) ;-) I wish the best for you!

have enough motor and Hpower you just need to get someone to tune it properly Its constantly plagued with bugs etc off the line traction and tranny /convertor adjustments etc . Maybe check around with some of those who tune pat musi, etc to get the laptop data correct and systems fuel nitrous synchronized. Somethings just need to cleared out ...as this car and has potential to go fast in the upper level competition maybe you will see this and adjust or let some techs from the pro mod/ PDRA/pro nitrous (jim halsey ) arena work on your bugs and systems to fine tune them for that massive engines potential

Should’ve went turbo. More cost effective after you consider the higher cost of fabrication. Engine would probably live a little longer too but oh well. Nitrous is still bad ass though.
