The media is doing a poor job informing the public with accurate information on COVID-19. They bring on self-proclaimed experts that make claims that have no ground in science and sometimes are full-on lying. Also, I think they are leaning into the fear angle too hard in order to draw clicks and viewership. I believe they should uphold proper journalistic standards and stick to the facts!

Yeah, I understand people who are more at risk of this virus being concerned, like the elderly and people with preexisting health conditions like bronchitis or people who rely on a Cpap Machine to breath properly, But I honestly feel like Healthy people who will only have mild symptoms from the virus are overreacting.

My mom was still working when Covid-19 hit and she was civil service working in a hospital on an AFB. They literally rounded up all the hand sanitizer in all the offices that didn’t belong to medical staff so they could use it. Luckily my mom had hand sanitizer saved because they’d give it out promoting new drugs. Let’s just say age was everybody’s favorite because they still needed hand Sanitizer themselves but it was confiscated. It was wild.

Almost enterie shelfs of products were gone, pharmacy's lack sanitizers. Not to mention food that can be stored for longer periods of time

Back in March 2020, I was about to hit 27 and my best friend just had a heart attack. Combine that with the Covid pandemic I started freaking out. I had several panic attacks which feel like you’re having a heart attack. My brain made me think I couldn’t breathe… it was probably the most scared I have ever been. The media of Covid at the time definitely formed that fear for me. I’m not saying it’s not serious, but how the media portrayed it at that time definitely made me overthink, and with my friend’s heart attack, I freaked out. I love this guy!

Still, the whole world stood watching China's extreme measures, while not even bother to order some extra supplies of protective equipment and medicine. Without even realizing that the virus isn't actually the flu, but a form of highly contagious SARS that will destroy any country's health care system. I don't think the news of this virus traveled faster than the virus itself. Because no country in the world was prepared for this when it hit them. Even if they had a couple of moths that they wasted doing NOTHING!

Thank you for not putting more politics in your video than you absolutely have to. You really gained my respect today. That said, the news is not in any way interested in reporting the facts. I saw a video in which a hospital was overflowing with patients sleeping in the hallways, but I'm semifluent in Italian and picked up right away that all of the signs there were in Italian. How long have you been in this country, Dr. Mike? Our "law makers" are not interested in your respect anymore, just your votes, your tax dollars, and campaign donations. That ship sailed decades ago, and I don't know if it's ever coming back. My husband and I caught it at the same time a year ago. The VA asked if they could track our progress so that they might learn more about COVID. They sent us an aural thermometer and a pulsoximeter and asked us to check in with our temperatures and blood/oxygen reading (I think that's how you say it) every morning. We were miserable, but at no point were we ever scared of dying. That's mostly because A. We're a couple of tough old birds, and B. With our Christian faith, we know where we're going when we do. I had the shots last year because, again, my doctor requested it because we didn't know enough about this thing. But you know by now that a lot of it is political. The state of Illinois shut down churches and small businesses, but not big box stores and pot shops. It's like they always say, follow the money.

Pretty much all doctors doing research are "bribed" because the funders supporting research have the option of being more or less involved in how their money is spent, and 100% control on what research they fund. Unfortunately Doctors alone don't have the resources to research much or have their research reach their audience without funding.

However, how these news outlets deliver the adverse effects of COVID-19 are excessive and they stretch the truth. We need this video to properly inform the people and not to cause any form of panic. What's worse is they tend to forecast a catastrophic scenario that ignites more fear.

I literally only listen to Dr. Mike’s perspective on this. I can’t deal with all the different things being spewed about this. I work in a hardware store- we have sold out of every mask we own, including the ones that are completely ineffective. And hand-santitizer (which is way more understandable). We can’t even order anything.

I was hospitalized with covid 19 in august 15th 2021 for a few days and then sent home on oxygen therapy but months later still need oxygen PRN and at night I was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure at age 29
