I think writers have forgotten how powerful Galactus really is. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby made him to be the most awesome entity. Galactus is the synthesis of Galan and Eternity! Him kicking Dormmamu's a** shouldn't be a surprise!

Chiafade now They do that a lot with the abstract entities, Living Tribunual comes to mind. 90% of the time he’s depicted as a nigh-omnipotent being capable of pretty much anything, but then some writer out of nowhere makes him get annihilated by chaos and order, or a beyonder, or Adam warlock.

MoJo Claw Dormammu has that problem too, there are two occasions where he went toe to toe with Eternity and one occasion with Shuma Gorath and at one point claims to be on the Living Tribunal tier but he gets humiliated in most of his modern appearances. Back then, the cosmic entities were getting stronger by challenging each other and taking their power (we saw this a lot in the Classics) now they just drop dead randomly.

Galactus is the all mighty of the marvel universe, always was. I’ve been waiting for him in film for 25 years and then the fantastic four representation of galactus killed me, he needs justice in the mcu.

Ah I personally don’t like it simply because I’ve seen galactus get bodied WAY to many times. Nothing about him shows he should be able to simply absorb dormammu. Up until this point dormammu has been a universal threat. The minute he stepped into the main marvel universe that was suppose to be it. But galactus who’s been beaten by guys weaker then that just treats him like trash?

Yeah exactly, this makes no sense. Dormammu has always been depicted as basically God in his own realm/universe. Galactus is a physical dude flying around a universe consuming planets with the help of machines, and sometimes gets beat. Horrible writing.

Vaettra Sometimes? There was a point in comics that if you wanted to show how powerful a character was you’d just have them beat galactus. He’s been the whipping boy of the marvel comic universe for years. Only in recent years have they amped him up.

I don't think galactus won the fight as much as he merged with dormammu, which might have been his plan all along. They are two vastly powerful entities and dormammu is cunning in a way that he could have been totally complicit in his actions against galactus and wanted him to absorb his entirety into galactus himself. Essentially he tricked galactus into consuming him, he was never trying to win the fight. Think about it, galactus now looks exactly like dormammu after merging with him.

After constantly seeing Galactus near starvation and getting humbled , glad to see Marvel finally treating The Big G right. Look at Silver Surfer # 12, where Galactus fights the Inbetweener. That fight firmly establishes a full power Galactus on an equal power level to Eternity and Death. In the entire universe, the only things more powerful would be the Infinity Gauntlet, The Living tribunal and the Heart of the universe.

This does not come as surprise to me because in my eyes powercosmic was always some kind or form of magic. SetTheProgrammer explained that Galactus is a *Multiversal level being* because he can squabble with Odin who is also a Multiversal level being. This also makes sense because in a crossover event Darkseid was able to blast Darkseid. And that was precrisis Darkseid (which is still the same Darkseid butuch more powerful). But what did shock me is that a Multiversal level being is unharmed by a *Higher Dimensional being.* Just fourth dimension alone could reside outside of the Multiverse as a whole and I'm not talking about DC here. This whole shtick is prolly Stan Lee's wish coming true-Galactus becoming truly godly because Galactus was the ORIGINAL God of Marvel Universe before the introduction of The One Above All.

Galactus has the power from the "death" of a universe. Technically said universe didn't outright die. It was part of a repeated cycle of big bang, existence, and and big crunch repeating on end like a heartbeat. Which by the way, is one of the in-real-life theories about our universe.

The result would end up being the same, since Galactus didnt actually fight Dormammu, he just absorbed all of the energy thrown at him then absorbed Dormammu since he's a being made of energy

Additionally, your videos have opened my eyes about Hulk so I may look into him now. The whole World Breaker saga and the Illuminati storyline (which I keep harping on about becoming a movie) is quite intriguing.

Mephisto and Nightmare are both not as powerful as Rob is making them out to be. Mephisto is the weakest of the Hell Lords and Nightmare is not even as strong as most other demons. He's basically on Magik's level of power maybe a little higher than her.

I casually grew up with comic cartoons on TV. I loved the Xmen and Spiderman. Sometimes I saw Dr. Strange in there too. But I never bought any comics just because I was too young and it really didnt interest me. However when I became older and the Marvel movies began, I fell in love. Im not a hardcore follower, Im more a casual lover. But BECAUSE of the Marvel movie Dr. Strange and the Avengers movies, I saw how freaking awesome he is. Thats why I came here and thank you for the explanation. Keep up the good job. It lets me dream of future movies.

Yes and No, this is an amped Galactus so it doesn't really answer the question because this isn't Galactus's own power but magical energy, I want to see a fight between Dormammu and a Galactus that isn't amped.

It is not ridiculous to presume Dormammu would destroy Galactus given that Dormammu has been treated as a multiversal threat for most of his history, and the fact he bodied Eternity. I could see why people would think Galactus winning the fight so easily is bs.

Dorm really underestimated galactus here he fed a lot of power into galactus in the hopes of making him his servant and then blasted even more at him to try to make him submit when he was attempting to assert control over him galactus just ate up all that energy dorm was not attacking galactus really and didn't get a chance to before getting consumed as dorm is a energy being or at least consists of mostly energy magical in nature and powerful but to galactus he just looked like a buffet dorm trying to kill galactus has other powers he could have employed to make this more of a fight who would win thats up in the air but I feel this loss was mostly dorms fault.

This seemingly unlimited capacity to absorb powers that Galactus has is becoming kinda silly, quite like Protegé's limitless copying powers. If he can simply absorb everything, why didn't he absorb the Beyonders' powers, or Adult Franklin Richards powers, or the powers of many other foes that defeated him before?

Galactus absorbs energy not power. Dormammu is an energy being so it makes sense for Galactus to absorb him.

I don't care what anyone has to say. Galactus is the most dominant being in the marvel universe. He survived his own universe being destroyed. He created the most popular marvel hero of all time silver surfer. Galactus is the devourer of worlds enough said.

There was an issue many years back (decade+) where the living tribunal decreed that there cannot be 2 sorcerer sumpremes in the same universe.

Funny how Galactus win or lose, he always finds a way back. Whether old or new marvel. Like when the beyonders killed the tribunal or when Franklin created the new multiverse, Galactus is still there. He must really be a staple of Marvel.

Yeah, 616 Galactus is one of the few Galactus' to survive Time Runs Out. (There was that Egyptian variant the Silver Surfer was trying to feed crocodiles to, but went crazy starved after proclaiming Doom's universe of one planet was wrong and starving him.)

After decades of reading comics, and Rob correct me if I am wrong here. But one thing I have noticed is that cosmic beings like the Living Tribunal don't side against their own. If someone else were in Galactus's shoes doing essentially the same thing they would have acted.

Franklin is a lot less powerful now after remaking the multiverse. And even then his adult counter-part did not do as well against the Mad Celestials as Galactus did, so he's a bit of an inconsistent dud in fights like this.
