This happened to someone I know and her experience was nothing short of horrific. Choking, vomiting, ended up in the ER and had to have it removed. They let her keep the piece they removed and it was so small, hard to believe the pain and damage it caused.

I had my husband throw away his wire grill brush after seeing this. My husband is a butcher and said he had seen this happen before. Truly incredible work on the team helping the baby out. This also helps educate the public about this incident, and make everyone aware.

I remember seeing an episode of Mystery Diagnosis where a guy got a wire from a grill brush lodged in his intestines. It caused a lot of issues, and he had to have some intestines removed. I stopped using the wire brush ones after that. The one we have right now has red plastic bristles. Very visible if one comes off.

Metal grill brushes should be banned. I've hear horror stories like these again and again. The small metal wires are prone to falling off and gets ingested.

I use an sos pad to wash mine grill and then again with dawn dish soap. I'm always worried about this!!

Thank you for sharing this information and story! My family and I have been blessed that this has not happened to us. THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR PROTECTION OVER US! This plus other stories in the comments section are horrible! They shouldn’t even make these brushes since they are so dangerous.
