Doctor Who: Jodie Whittaker - '80s Title Sequence

I'm back with a 'new' title sequence! This time, a recreation of the '80s Who sequence adapted to fit Whittaker's Doctor.
I recreated each element of the 80's Sid Sutton titles from the ground up, including the star-field, the lens flares (and their exact timings), the face vortexes and the rest of the intricacies seen in the original. I aimed to time each element as accurately as possible (using Davison's title sequence specifically).
Jodie's face was constructed from a number of images to create the perfect front-on shot, to mimic the ones used by Sutton for his three title sequences.
A new cut of the Howell theme, using some original stems, was also mixed by myself to be showcased here.

looks good but was not necessary why try and ruin classic doctor who with the worsed doctor in the entire 50+ years of the show and one of the worsed writers in the shows 50+ years. its mind boggling. I can't wait till 2023 hopefully season 13 won't be as horrendous

And while I don’t agree with a lot of the writers’ choices, the stories were pretty solid. The BBC has barely changed at all, Series 11 was pretty okay overall, and you need to take a grammar lesson.

technically there were 3 title sequences in the 80s, the 1980-1985 version in the late 4th and 5th Doctor era and arranged by Peter Howell, the 1986 version for the 6th Doctor arranged by Dominic Glynn (similar visuals, slightly tweaked) and the 1987 version for the 7th Doctor arranged by Keff McCulloch.

Amazing! The animation is absolutely perfect! Such a weird nostalgia to see retro 80s video effects done with crisp digital effects in 2020. Also this is my favourite version of the theme tune.

This is by far the BEST sound quality of this theme tune to be found anywhere on KZfaq! It sounds amazing played really loud on my surround sound at home. My neighbours must think I’m a right twat, but what the hell! 😂

Nicely done! I like what you did with the face with the gradient colors. Only things I felt was missing from this was the ‘echo-fade’ (as I call it) with how the logo moves out in the star-field sequences. However, using the flare as a transitional element worked fine. Flares also in some places did look a bit odd, but I can understand those being a bit of a challenge to try and replicate digitally. Outside of those little nitpicks, I think this was pretty straight on and to the point. Good work Dave!

The only thing missing is a crossover with another doctor getting their titles done up Jodie Whittaker style! I think you can see where I’m going with this. Very evocative! 👏👏👏!
