Since when has it been underrated?

I hear a lot of people call it boring, but it's one of my personal favourites

I never hear anyone call it boring. I always hear that it's one of the best Fourth Doctor stories.

@@mrdoctorgilmore I never heard it called that either and for me it was the last truly engaging Dr Who story of the ones I watched in the Pertwee-Baker years of the 70s. Yes,there was an extended phase trying to fend off a largely unseen enemy trying to make its way up the stone stairs of the under-siege lighthouse,but for me it was the last truly engaging Dr Who story of all the ones I watched over two-thirds of the Pertwee - Baker era 70s. A month after this story completed,my interests shifted to those more characteristic of to the teenager I had just become,though I never lost my nostalgic love for the old Doctor Who in all its incarnations up to that point. Shortly after watching the last episode of this story that Saturday in 1977,me and one or two or three schoolfriends rushed outside to mess about playing chasing/being chased by a monster type games in the extensive gardens outside. Still running around after each other at full pace as the early autumn darkness descended,I ran straight into a large bed of roses. I still have a scar a couple of inches long,that's clearly visible from close up,on my left thigh from that incident to this day.

I'd disagree with that. There are plenty of good stories in the Williams era: - this story - The Invisible Enemy - Image of the Fendahl - The Sun Makers - The Pirate Planet - The Stones of Blood -Androids of Tara - City of Death - The Creature from the Pit (controversial! I like it) - Shada
