This finale had the coolest setup in the entire series, Daleks vs Cybermen with Earth as their battleground. Then they went the extra mile and broke your heart with the story.

I had never seen Doctor Who before. I started watching a month ago and I am still not over Doomsday. I keep coming back to this very soundtrack. It's like constant torture but weirdly enough I love it. This will always make me cry out of the blue to the end of my days.

And what does the vocals sound like? A sad wolf howl...

"I'm burning up a sun just to say goodbye..." Cried like a baby during this episode :'(

Regardless of what kind of companion she was...Rose was still the first that most of us had, and like both 9 and 10, that's clearly...significant. I miss her. I miss when I was watching her for the first time, just blown away by the sheer creativity of the show as a kid. The way she was written doesn't even come into it. We all miss her, and we all miss that.

Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant will always be my favorite.

You know how sad and amazing this song is? When a parody group takes a well-known time-travelling character from the future and understandably gave him Doctor Who elements like the shamelessly proud geeks they are, they used this song for that character's biggest tragedy in their backstory when we finally see their version of it. And, other than the sounds of the rain, this is the only thing we hear for a while. This was all they needed to sell the sadness of the scene. To use this music, they marked Trunks' loss of Future Gohan on par with Ten losing Rose in terms of tragedy. And they made VERY VERY good use of this theme.

The one thing that always made me cry about Doomsday, was that the Doctor forced Rose to go to Pete's world at first, because he wanted her to be safe. And then she made her way back to him. She had made that whole decision of 'I'm going to give up seeing my family forever because I want to be with this man for the rest of my life' and even after making that decision, she was probably thinking over how her and the Doctor were gonna save the world there at Torchwood Tower and then go on with their lives together. She had made that decision and was ready to never see her family again and instead spend her life with him, but that decision was ripped away from her, just because her hand slipped. Fuck I'm gonna cry

When I listen to this song I just feel the way The Doctor did when he lost Rose. Dead inside myself.

"It stopped working. He did it. He closed the breach"- Pete Tyler says as The Doctor closes the breach and Rose realises that she can never go back.

I think it's a testament to TFS that this song now brings memories of not only Doctor Who itself, but of History of Trunks Abridged as well. Both shows really know how to sell a moment.

The beginning reminds me of when Ten and Rose had their ears up to the wall trying to hear each other. =0

I cry every single time i watch this episode. Every. Single. Time. Everytime I think I'm okay, I'm good, I won't cry this time, I end up failing and bawling my eyes out. XD

I never understood why people cried over this but looking back on it now 13 years later I realised it’s not just a friend the doctor lost but also a lover and it breaks my heart 😢😢

They had the most amazing chemistry. Everything was wonderful. This song so encapsulates all of it and that magical time.

Not going to lie: Billie Piper was my first true celebrity crush back in the day. When I first watched this episode when it was originally aired back in 2006… watching The Doctor be separated from the woman he loved… This soundtrack piece, this scene, this episode… That’s when I truly became a man.

The beginning of the song reminds me of initial shock, and then as it as continues, it makes me think of dread and heartbreak, until finally the acceptance kicks in. Fits perfectly for this episode 😭

It is such a rate thing to find a love that is *that* amazing, and I remember thinking how amazing it was that the show put them together when I watched it for the first time. The this happened.

I haven’t watched doctor who in ages and damn. The first note got me in tears

The voice sounds like a sad howling wolf, BAD WOLF

The way the vocals sound in this makes me think they intended this to be used for the 9th doctor's regeneration into 10 but later repurposed it when ecalston decided to leave early. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the entire second season where supposed to be 9th doctor stories.

I cried so hard at this episode it phisicly hurt me, to be honest I held my sobs in witch really hurt, but words cannot describe how I felt during that scene, I usually always try avoiding this song cause it's like relieving trauma, the whole episode flashes before my eyes but slows down at the extra sad bits l 😢😭.

Rose is the companion that always feels like an actual person, no one else since has came close, the excitement she brought, the fact that she really was just a regular human being (other than the whole bad wolf bit). I wish we had got another series with her and 9 or 10

God-damn... This track is something else... I played the World of Light smash trailer with this music in the background, and it fits *so* bloody well from the start up until just before Kirby crash-lands.

This was it. I hadn't properly sat down to watch this "new" sci-fi show that dominated BBC chatter since the previous year, but I had peeked in and out. By the time Doomsday came around, there was such a pull, such an urge to watch that I allowed the proper time to watch the (just about) full episode. I was completely immersed. Woe betide those who had loved seasons 1 & 2 and watched Rose's full story up to that point, they must have been emotional wrecks. This theme is incredible.

This song haunts me, the season 2 finale haunts me, what happened at canary wharf that day in 2007, it haunts my every waking hour, and it's no better when I'm sleeping, but all in a good way, doomsday was the best episode of doctor who and the best episode of anything in general

It took me weeks to start watching the next season after the Doomsday scene. I sobbed for days and this song makes me get all of these emotions.

The emotion is this song is so strong. And that bass-ey bit at the beginning is just so strong, I immediately start crying. I get very teary at a lot of shows, but this just takes it to a whole new level.
