I'm just glad everyone's acknowledging the Throughton Tardis has a flipped sign door I pointed this out to a friend when watching Enemy of the World and she just insisted the picture was reversed because of "restoration"

I'm so happy with this release, not just because the fur coat troughton is such a delight, but the wrong-door signed tardis is something I've wanted since forever, if I think of the most iconic tardis for every doctor, this is the one I think of for 2, it's so unique, it's there throughout his best run of stories, and because of the new tooling that would be needed for the doors I thought we'd never get it, and now we do. Can't wait to get mine

All though the doors are on the wrong side. This tardis can be used Fo A lot Of Things Recreating the Tardis landing from Enemy Of The World. (If someone is insane and crazy to do that.) Used For Projects (Like Fixing the doors or making it look like the 3rd Doctor era tardis) And. Trying to Correct the doors! (To make it look like The Tardis He Used After Evil Of The Daleks And Season 5 In General)

the light problem comes from the fact you're camera shuter speed dont match with the led's. kinda the contrary to those videos of choppers with static rotors

This set looks incredible. Glad I got my order in when I did, and great review as always! The price doesn't really phase me since, adjusted for inflation, it's basically the same value as the Forbidden Planet TARDIS sets from a decade ago. Plus the amount of fresh tooling on both the box and figure really give it some value!

It says a lot for the state of the new series when companies invest this much love and attention on Classic series characters. There’s nothing from the current series that comes close to matching it.

Actually I think is a good thing, I was getting tired of just getting Tennant, Smith, Capaldi, stuff. Jodie era brought lots of classic releases un DVD and toys than ever before

It’s absolutely unnecessary the classic series never had interior cards for the Tardis so it wouldn’t be accurate plus the new series Tardis’ that character released had a plastic backing which allowed them to have an interior card

It's a good set, a variant of the 2nd Doctor we didn't have until now, and really good of CO to bring back electronic TARDISES on the market. But for £40? Yeah, I'll have to pass, unfortunately.

Indeed...sfx tardises generally go for £25+ and carded figures at £13 so that with free postage...its not that bad.

This is a fantastic set, who'd of thought we'd finally see the 2nd Doctor in fur coat released plus a new Tardis. Was the lamp yellow on that particular Tardis?

Yes. It was orange. The prop for some reason was fitted with an orange lamp

I'm so pleased about this release. The Abominable Snowmen is a favourite of mine, and it's wonderful that it's an SFX Tardis too. Ordered mine straight away, and what a pleasure it is to buy it online on Character's website, one in the eye for the online bully that runs the Dr Who Merchandise Guide, always championing B&M. Online is the way to go, whether exclusive or not, especially in these dark times. My opinion that's all. A big thank you for your review :-)

As nice of a set that it seems to be, there is one thing that you haven't mentioned which is the price. It's £40! Like as good as it is I still think that £40 is a bit steep. Maybe £30 at most considering the new lights and sounds but it is literally double the price of other Doctor and Tardis sets. Now, I'm not sure if Character may have given you a free sample as you have it early and are reviewing it. So I could understand that you may have not known what the price was when filming or it may have just not affected you if it was a freebie. But in my and many others opinions I've heard, this if an expensive set for what you get. Luckily I'm saving money at the moment for a couple more visits to Time Fracture so I've vowed not to spend my money on anything else at the moment. So I guess if I ever want this set I'll have to check eBay in a couple of years.

It’s even worse if you’re in the states because the shipping is steep. I think I’ll stick to the war games one I got off amazon for only 25 dollars and a discount on top of it.

@@flyhyland Considering that they have made electronic Doctors and Tardis' in the past that would have been completely made from scratch and definitely weren't sold for £40, I don't see how this one should cost that much. I mean, the only retooling they have actually done is flipping the doors over. That's it. The rest of the box is the same and they already had the prototype for the second Doctor in his woolly coat. And in regards to it being limited edition, I believe the last online exclusive was only £5 more. So if you maybe add another £10 for the electronics, that would still only go up to £35. And there have been plenty of other sets that have done far more retooling but have still remained at the cheaper price of £20. Even the War Games TARDIS with the retooled roof was still £20. So I don't get how this is double the price. But if you're willing to buy it then go for it. I'd rather wait till I have more money and maybe get it on eBay for a slightly higher price if I feel I want to.

its not super accurate but its weird because I know how difficult it is for them to make a new box and all that, So I'm very impressed its not 100% accurate but its a big step up and I think its the switched doors which does it for me however one small complaint if they can add better quality sound files why not add the accurate sounds from the show because I'm 99% sure at the time they reversed the sound so why not here?

Not gonna lie, I'm personally a bit bummed by this announcement. I do love the 2nd Doctor but I personally find this furr coat hideous af 😅 Not only that, but it's not really "new" as it's based on an existing action figure, which is... I dunno, just disappointing. Was hoping for some S12 Master and/or Fugitive Doctor, or something not based on any existing sculpt. Eh, I guess this means we'll have to customize our action figure ourselves some more. Glad some people are excited about this set tho! ♥️

I don't see were they think it's ok to double the price because the tardis is a reused body and electronics are reused, second doctor is reused just a new coat
