My lovely wife and I saw the movie the night we got engaged. It was always our song- sadly our life together ended the same way, only she died of heart disease. One life, one love forever!

Whenever I was sick as a young boy, my mother would put this movie on for me. As I grew up, she would still put it on for me to watch. It was comforting to me. Even though I was young, I didn't fully grasp the whole idea of this. When I'm sick now, I watch this, and it still reminds me of home and I wish to show my kids this masterpiece and share it with them when they are sick.

When movies were beautifully made and scored! ❤ I dressed up to see the movie. Remember those days? One of the first dates with a Texas Aggie who I married about 2 years year later. When we both cried in the movie somehow I knew he was the one! Still together almost 56 years! ❤

It always breaks my heart when Zhivago claws at the frost on the window, then breaks the window with the curtain rod just to see her again. And by that time she is on the horizon, so close but yet so far away. He's devastated but knows that he protected her by sending her away. Oh, and before she left ...that look on her face when he placed the musical instrument (his prized possession) in the sleigh with her. So emotional and well done.

Wow, do I ever remember this movie. I watched it with my very first love, and we were so into each other, I'm afraid we missed parts it. Now it's a classic and will always remain to enchant other young couples in love. Oh well, my first love is no longer, but the memories of that time in the movie theater will always linger in my mind like the scent of honey suckle on a Summer evening.

I fell in love with Laura and, I'm still in love with Julie Christie. I was 14yrs and was forced to go see this wonderful movie by my mother. I read the book many yrs later. Our good doctor had his hardships. I must add; It is possible to love more than one woman at a time. Humbling in my older years. Forgive.

My first child, a daughter, was born a little over 8 hours ago. We named her Lara. I was reading Dr Zhivago when I met her mother. It seemed fitting.

My Wifes going away Outfit after our Wedding was the Fur-lined Coat and Hat and Knee high Boots as worn in the Film...almost 50 yrs later we are still together and I still vividly remember dancing our 1st dance to Lara's Theme...Beautiful Memories...

Singapore , it so popular, i was perhaps only 4 yrs old, my dad would keep aside money to buy tickets andthewhole bunch of us to watch .Tickets were not cheap ,good thing is, small kids like us can squeeze into seats. Being young, I can only remember the part of DRZhivago in thebus scene and was trying to call out a woman who was walking pass his moving bus... sadly he kind of fainted struggling for air ..so I watch again when i grew up ,,,hah

Was heartbroken to hear of his recent passing. Beautiful man. I fell in love with his soulful eyes when I was little. Watched Dr. Zhivago hundreds of times growing up. A classic that I wish my children would put their game controllers down long enough to actually emerse themselves in this wonderful film.

Christina Mussared just saw an interview with Sharif on TCM where he said David Lean deliberately focused on his eyes in the film, because being a poet, he wanted the audience to see everything through the poet's eyes.

Some fabulous movie and actors !!! and based on TRUTH !!! I was adopted by a Russian man who fled Russia in 1917... and, believe it or not, in 1982 in Paris, Omar Sharif came to the club where I worked - he was there to see his long time friend, the famous Lebanese singer, Sabah !

Life is divided into two segments (1) Before seeing this all-time great movie and (2) After seeing this all-time great movie. It has created such a profound impression on my mind that I live by it every day. Hats of to the Great David Lean and Maurice Jarre for the haunting Lara's tune.

One of the greatest love novels/films I’ve ever watched and read, it’s extraordinary and brings out so many emotions I have not seen in a long time. The ending especially breaks my heart seeing him die trying to run to the love of his life. I just like to imagine what would have happened if they had met the first time they saw each other back on that train in Moscow all the way at the beginning.

yeah that ending was tough, really tough! shoulda won best picture but at the time musicals were the forte, not beautiful movies like this. Since then I've never been a fan of the academy because other movies didn't win either that should have (like ET). yeah movies that touch the heart should win that award not some of the stupid movies that win instead.
