I’ve been working at an axe throwing bar for years. That incident was preventable in SO many ways. First, the axe over rotates, which means the first time she threw, someone should never have let her throw that particular axe. It looks like a Husky, which are very notable for over rotation. Second, they should have immediately stopped her from throwing with that amount of power, it only increases blowback especially if someone is over rotating naturally. This was entirely not her fault - it was the fault of the person watching out for them. And I’ve spent almost 3 years on a weekly basis having to explain why this video will never happen to anyone ever, and it never has. You have to throw so perfectly wrong, with the wrong axe, and with the power of a baseball launcher to make that happen.

what's the typical policy regarding alcohol and throwing? I've always thought giving an intoxicated person a bladed weapon _TO THROW_ a terrible idea. it's literally a step away from handing them a racked and loaded gun

@@metroidhunter965 also, almost once a week someone comes in (intoxication or not), and just says “how sharp is this?” And immediately runs their hand on the blade. So most places keep the axes VERY DULL. If you ever throw at a place, you’ll see them water down the board. That’s why. It’s barely a bladed weapon, it’s just a blunt object with a ridge and a wet piece of wood.

I think the reason people who get run over don't generally have fractures is because the pressure on the bone is not likely to break it. Fractures are usually caused by shearing forces.

Yep. She redirected the kinetic energy, so instead of coming to a sudden stop from a fall, where the energy would have to be disipated immediately, it was disipated safely and slowly by directing it into a rotational motion. Jind of like if you roll or summersaults upon landing from a high fall, it can reduce the likelihood of injury.

It's the difference between panicking, and keeping your cool. You panic, you flail. You stay level-headed, and you can respond more thoughtfully to what's happening. I've been in somewhat similar situations, and they always ended better when I just went along with it, than when I spent a second freaking out.

This is an amazing video! Thank you for every video you post, doctor! I was actually wondering, you react to game deaths a lot, but you have never tried explaining what has happened to the creatures that were once human, like the Callisto Protocol creatures or l4d zombies. Like going off of visual details to try and see what has happened to their body. Just an idea, of course!

I could do cartwheels perfectly fine when I was a kid. But a few years ago when playing around outside with my niece, I tried doing a cartwheel for probably the first time in close to 15-20 years. I pulled it off just fine, but it felt a lot harder on my body than it used to.

The bike one i can relate to, i flew like superman for a sec, scarred my lip, the skin just sheds whenever it gets wet. My groin got hit too, but thank god my Excalibur is still intact.

When I was in elementary school and went to kindergarten, my parents took me to a dance school and at that time I knew how to do a cartwheel. Only over time, when I stopped going there, I forgot how, haha...)😅 You are very cool)😋

I used to do cartwheels when I was younger. I would often cartwheel or front-handspring into the pool (never back handspring... that wasn't plausible for me 😅). But now I'm an old man in my 30s, much less in shape, and just heavier enough that, uh... no, I can't do any of those things anymore. I'll stick to diving and cannonballs instead 😂

To me al of them were super lucky. The lightening one was the oddest to me just because of the chance of being struck by lightening can be so low to begin with. And all of them avoided what could have been death or very severe trauma. I hope you can do more of these!

5:28 I actually had the weirdest moment with a trampoline I was doing a trick were I jumped and landed with my knees on the trampoline and back on my feet but when I jumped on mmy knees all of the sudden I felt a pain in my back and got the wind knocked out of me I still don’t know why that happened 😂

I’ve done so much stoopid stuff in my life I’m surprised I’m still around lol.. I’ve lost count on how many broken bones I’ve endured I do know I’ve broke my nose 4 times throughout life..The worst time was when I was riding on the handlebars of my bike and my sister was driving and we were racing the neighborhood kids in time trials around the block..We hit a bump and I went face/nose first onto the sidewalk my sister continued to ride over me and around the block to finish the time trial lmao..

While we were coming home on a road trip one time, my dad and I almost got crushed to death by a rouge tire flying right towards our car from in front of us. He swerved over to the right lane to avoid it and we were lucky no one was next to us or that we didn't flip over or spin out. It felt like something you would see in a LiveLeak video.

I think one of the main reasons people don't get fractures from getting run over/hit by TRACTOR tires might be the fact that they are usually not overly full of air (to improve traction...) so they are a bit softer than most/regular tires. They are still quite heavy though but will give a bit.

Once at school in the gym we did skating, I didn't have a good helmet to protect my head and when I was skating a rock made me fall and break a bone on my right when I was in the hospital the doctor told me that I had a great possibility of having brain trauma but I didn't have a fracture in my brain so I relieved myself and then I went to Decathlon to buy a helmet and for now I was lucky to avoid a fracture in my head

ive got a story to the point of the motorcycle crash where you said get as far away as possible. well i drive a golfcart as a mobility aid and when i moved i had to go through the process to get permission from the town i had everything to make it 48 state legal except the seatbelt because if i crash id rather get tossed off than be attached to it and use my one accident as an example where i flipped it on its side and got tossed about 5 feet and because i got tossed my leg didnt end up under it. so they said id have to clear it with the police which i contaced them and they pointed out the traffic act states a golfcart cant be used as a mobility aid to which i looked up other laws and the accessibility act prevails over any other law or regulation. so in the end im legal and talked to the provincial government who said if it didnt come factory with a seatbelt i dont need one and agreed that if i crash the best case senario is im tossed off not attached to it because its not a car with a cage around me

Something happened. Recently my grandmother got into a major wreck and went to the hospital with only some bruising. Everyone in the family was surprised she didn't break bones or even die from it considering the wreck and her body type.

Only weirdly lucky moment I've had, was e used to have a little picnic table as a kid it was one of those huge spool cables for wires and such, and some how it got rolling down the yard towards someones garrage, I got the brilliant idea of trying to stop it so I ran up to it and jumped on it to stop it, well went about as well as you expect :> small kid, huge spool, I jumped on got spun 180*'s and landed on my back as it kept going.

Cartwheels?? Easy-peasy, I was doing them from a young-young kid well up into my 30s. Round-off handsprings too. I just turned 69 so I don't do that any more. Haven't even gone roller-skating since about 15 years ago (granddaughter's birthday party at the rink).

I remember one time when I was playing soccer during Gym Class. And one of the students kick the ball right at my face. I literally ducked down less than a second before the ball hit me and I was shocked when I did.

I saw a video where a toddler ran into the road and so narrowly missed being run over. Had the kid left a half a second later or the driver been going a little faster or brake slower, he would have been hit. I wondered if that one would be on this video.
