I noticed “diet” was not discussed. 🧐 Staying hydrated can really make your skin glow! Staying away from greasy fried and fatty foods is a good idea. Choosing healthier food options, such as fruits and vegetables, can also help keep skin clear and promote healthy skin. For example, strawberries, citrus fruits, and healthy fats from fish can promote collagen production!😉Getting enough sleep is important to for “rest and recovery”. Paired with a good skin care routine and the wonderful knowledge shared in this video will definitely increase the health of your skin!🥰🫶

I recently started getting a bit more serious with my skincare (turning 30 next year) and I'm very grateful for direct, honest recommendations like this. The skincare industry is absolutely rife with scam artists so it's hard to know what to believe at times. Biggest game changers for me have definitely been sunscreen, retinol, BHA exfoliant, and nighttime moisturizer. My skin has seen MASSIVE improvements just from learning the right chemicals to use.

I felt this!! It’s going to be a lot of research in the beginning. I’m relatively new to skincare as well and I recommend learning how to read the ingredients of products. Learn the most common good and harmful chemicals (it can also help with decision making). Also the basic and must have products for skincare is cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. (Cerave hydrating cleanser and moisturizer is what I personally use and it works great). As for sunscreen.. it’s the one of the most hardest to find a good one

Can you do a video on how to remove whiteheads and blackheads without leaving a scar or small holes on the face especially in the cheek area? Love your videos, btw.

@@wondernature2345 salicylic acid is actually effective in this I think. the dermatologist I consulted prescribed me a salicylic acid cleanser. it obviously doesn't give you overnight results but it was very effective on my skin. my nose and chin are smooth without any abrasions. I have been using it for over 4 months now and even though my skin is pretty much clean, I have switched my regular cleansers for a salicylic acid cleanser.

@@saumyapandey7253 Yesyes, I once tried salicylic acid. However, my whiteheads got riped then the next day it made a small hole cause it got accidentally removed when I was sleeping.

Your videos are very helpful and i love them. Would really appreciate if you could make a video on male pattern baldness as i haven’t seen much videos about it on social media by dermatologists. Thank you and keep going! 👍🏻

Omg. Soooo back when I was a teenager I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup so I wouldn’t wear sunscreen on my face on purpose so I can get the natural blush. It was really pretty because for some reason I only burn on my nose and cheeks. But I totally regret it now 😢🥺

I love your explanation! I do a skin routine that is aimed to achieve my goal at the same time unique to my skin as I do not follow anyone else’s routine. So far it is doing fabulous and all thanks to the both of you! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Now that we know what active ingredient we need to put on our face, I would like to suggest for you guys to do a video about what active ingredients can be layered on. For example, can I use niacinamide on top of vit c? How about vit c on top of retinol? Thank you so much!

Thanks Jesse! We actually both trained in other specialties first (me in radiology and Dr Maxfield in internal medicine)! I never thought I’d be a dermatologist, let alone a doctor haha it’s been a weird path for both of us to get here but somewhat serendipitous

I feel like a doc myself after watching this. So well explained. What I understand is pores are mostly because of extra oil production. I am 33 I have dry skin and still have large pores on cheeks. I am confused what should I do in this case. I don't want to do something which will make my skin more dry. Any pointers is highly appreciated docs. Loads of love 🤗🤗🤗
