1080v12 was quite firm. I sold them quick.

New Balance probably has the most overpriced shoes. The SC Elite v4, the SC Trainer v2... Absolutely absurd!

@@michaelcaricoo yeah I get that. I would argue SB2 isn’t worth it if you have a rotation. If you have the sb2 for a do it then it’s def worth the money.

@andorkish yeah that's fair, even as a big fan of the superblast it's more of either something extra to have or that one shoe rotation. I'm sure the balos is nice but I can't see why it's $200 for a limited use shoe

To help with New Balance's marketing campaign. Sense I get is that the Balos is a trial run, comfort shoe, with super foams, NBs effort at a Superblast or a similar shoe. Basically they built a shoe with a standard NB comfort + Hoka style rocker and up market super foams. It's a test of components they might eventually include in the 1080, 880 or other shoes in their line. Balos might be a one and done if it doesn't sell really well.

Great question. Different rides. The Rebel is light, closer to the ground and the far faster of the two. The Balos is far more more cushioned, maximal, and rockered. Balos better for training/easy mileage. Rebel is a far more versatile.

Balos is a little more of an all rounder. It's not a great uptempo shoe, but you could do occasional uptempo work in it, it has more of a roll if you are looking at a shoe that assists your run a bit, as opposed to the more neutral 1080. If you wanted to do a casual run with a few strides at the end, the Balos is a lot better than the 1080. Balos falls between the 1080 and the 880.

Balos is a 1080v12 priced $50 more. I’m not sure where new balance is going with the 1080 series, but the v12 was superior in every way for me.

I don't know what shoe size you wear or what country you're located in, but the 1080v12 is pretty readily available for cheap right now on Amazon, Zappos, and Joes New Balance Outlet.

Different shoes for different folks .....figure out your specs and buy accordingly......simple

@@jordan21210 You should check again. those sites don't actually have them in stock. I have checked all those sites and then some. I checked everywhere. none of them have any if the common mens sizes much less in any widths. Only amazon does. but it's only the black and yellow model and it's full cost, literally $165. which seems like a lot for a shoe that's out of production, but if it doesn't come down, I would 100% pay that and get another one.

@@nictheperson6709 The real issue is the gimmicks and the needless and constant radical changes to long existing models. If they stood behind their products, they could actually make them for longer than 9 months before coming out with something totally radically different than before. Cuz all they are about is trying to juice sales and the 1080v13 is the hottest and best selling new running shoe NB has released maybe ever. Everyone loves it, cuz 99% of folks are using it as a lifestyle shoe and think mush is the greatest thing ever. it's basically become a gimmick about how soft and mushy can we make it. ofc every new model needs another 5 cm of stack for some reason too. and every new model needs to be less and less flexible with more and more of a rocker so it's not like walking on a literal brick. 30 mm stack used to be considered maximalist. Now it's a "barefoot racing shoe." what a joke.

I haven’t gotten to try the more v5 yet. Personally the SC trainer is not stable enough for me, so the Balos wins by default.
