I really wish they kept the rock theme from Before the Flood for Capaldi's entire era. Not only is it awesome but Peter actually played the electric guitar rendition of the theme which they used for the episode which is even better

Even after 14 years Series 4’s opening at 7:49 is still my favourite opening But I do have to admit hearing that bit at 10:48 again in the new intro sent chills down my spine and brought me back to when I was a kid watching The 10th Doctor

It could be argued that there are 3 missing title sequences in this compilation... 1) The Third Doctor title sequence where the opening theme continues rather than repeats the same sequence until fade (Mind of Evil Episode 1, being an example) 2) The Delaware opening titles, as used during a broadcast in Australia and released in error on Episode 2 of Carnival of Monsters and Episode 5 of Frontier in Space of the UK VHS releases. 3) The 'alternate colour' opening title sequence for The Ark in Space (which was a purposeful piece of experimentation by the production team).

Always some love for Delia Derbyshire, who put the first one together. And Murray Gold, who brought it new life in 2005 and again today. Also Segun Akinola, who took the theme back towards it's roots in 2018.

I think the Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker ones were the best. It's trippy, eccentric stuff that we do best. Heath Robinson in some ways, but so effective. The wink that Sylvester McCoy gives is so reassuring, especially after Colin's slightly sinister grin, though lovely Colin was done wrong.

The 2006-2009, 2010-2012 and the new one are my favourites. The music and the title sequences are so amazing and iconic. They stick with me the most.

My personal favourite is the Whittaker one. It's abstract, mysterious, the bass drop grabs your attention and it gets you ready for the adventure ahead. Say what you will about said adventures but it's a great title sequence. The runners are are McCoy's titles, Tom Baker's first titles and the Matt Smith first titles

I love the new one. It brings back the joy and swashbuckling excitement from the original RTD era. My top 3 are: 2008 2023 1980

The first four themes from Hartnell to Baker will always be the best.

Moffatt dropped the ball on "Night of the Doctor". McGann should have gotten a special opening.

80's themes, my beloved

I brought up my daughter on Dr Who. And I'm a doctor too (only in engineering sadly. But I have designed satellites!) Anyway, I was driving her back from school about 13 years ago and we were listening to Radio 4. The Dr Who theme tune came on and my seven year old little girl laughed and said "It's Delia Derbyshire! And the BBC Radiophonic Workshop!" She's now 20, and off saving the planet, but seriously she was a cool kid.

I like all of the intros, but 5:35 will always hold a special place in my mind. I know not many like the movie, but it was what got me interested in classic Doctor Who after watching 9th, 10th and 11th's seasons. Thanks to this movie I got to watch so many episodes of good ol' Doctor Who (funny enough, 7th's season started the year I was born).

I can remember my dad watching The Doctor as a kid and then I jumped on the Ecclestone/Tennant/Smith hype and loved it! I thought the writing for Capaldi was criminal and have totally stepped away from it now. One day I’d love to get back to it but I can’t see that being anytime soon from what I’m hearing.

Capaldis is so damn good. It’s so underrated.

I love watching evolution of title sequences from long-running TV shows, especially Doctor Who.

I love the very different, more adventurous intros to the first Matt Smith one and the latest one. They both really get the blood pumping and get you ready for the excitement of the episode.😁👏Also, you missed one out, as the one for “Voyage of the Damned” had a different, more raw or pulse-pounding electric guitar intro to the theme (as opposed to the more-orchestral version they then changed to for Series 4).

I love it! Through all of its many iterations (regenerations?) the title theme never fails to get me excited about the episode I'm about to watch!

I now most people don’t like it. But honestly, my favorite intro is the series 7b one. I think it’s a nice mix of the modern more action oriented intros with the more psychedelic imagery of the older intros. Also the music is a bop.

The best one is 10:36

There's never any love for the series 5-7a theme. It's my all time favorite, not just because 11 is my favorite Doctor. It gives a sense of danger to flying through the Time Vortex. You can see the TARDIS struggling and being struck by lightning since they're defying the natural law of time must move forward. It looks like trying to navigate a tornado or hurricane. It might not be as spectacular or nostalgic as some of the others, but I like that is gives weight and danger to the Time Vortex. Something we don't really see in other themes. That's probably why I also like this new theme for the 60th and the 15th Doctor. It has that danger and sparking, and it feels like you're flying through a vortex. It's not as chaotic as 11's, but it has that hurricane like effect to it

Happy they remembered to include both Colin Baker versions, but pissed they forgot the "Before the Flood" rendition.
