My daughters and I have been watching you for years , when Allison first started learning bracket racing both of my girls (now 11 and 8) were starting juniors and we used the videos to help reinforce the basic concepts , especially what to do at the stripe. They have found in Allison a role model and in your family and very similar context (a grandpa with 40 years of racing/fabrication experience like Jeff and a dad who’s more of a newbie to complex mechanical things like Tommy) this deal with Dodge and roadkill is a GAME CHANGER , you guys are going to KILL it and we will be there watching and supporting all of you ! If you're serious about winning, you build the lightest car that will take the least amount of time to make ready. That means the DUSTER. The quicker you can get it running, the more testing and perfecting you can do.

Most of the new cars have launch control, So you can build boost for your hit “if you need it at all”. The Duster is definitely the car to use, built for racing already with some performance updates like the rear end and suspension. Congratulations Alison it quit a honor to be chosen to compete and that event.

Definitely build the Duster, a lot of the work to turn it into a race car is already done which puts you money and time ahead. The team that wins is the team that has time to test before roadkill nights imo

The positive about the duster is theres tons of aftermarket support suspension wise and all, the dakota you will be left to adapt things to it. You guys are killing it! Congrats, we all cant wait!

I vote Dakota!!!! I believe they weigh close to the same. The Dakota would daily well with a Daily driver tune in the ECU after the race

I would use the disassembled Dakota use the assembled truck to know what and where to change. Small truck straight in line just like a 2 jz celica.. awesome

If you like the little Dakota now you might like it that much better with a modern drivetrain… that be my vote.

I'm excited to see this build. I hope for the dakota, but I have always been a truck guy. The upside to the truck would be ability to mount stuff in the brand not having to worry about a fire wall.

Duster is already better setup to work obviously ,but the Dakota would be very unique.plus my thinking is if people are swapping hemis into dakotas then the hurricane should fit also .either one will be cool to see though

Build the Dakota. Be a sweet daily driver/hard tire toy to beat on. It would also be kinda unsuspecting at a stop light.

Love it. A lot of fun is going to be had. The duster might be the better choice. It has the Roll cage and rear end in it already. I would put a mild V8 and some nice wheels on the Dakota and daily it.

Back in 73 I had an adjustable pinion snubber on my 65 Barracuda and my 71 dodge demon 340. The snubber planted the rear wheels from the dig and 90/10 front shocks let the weight transfer like a mofo. Is the crate engine modified above the stock 400 hp I think that is the advertised hp. Glad to see you get recognized by Dodge for your efforts with your own cars.

My uncle a sweet 93 Extended cab Dakota with a v8, sunroof, bed cover. Was a 2tone blue and silver. Pretty sure it was factory lowered but not 100 percent on that. He bought it new off the lot.. it sat lower than any other Dakota 2wd id ever seen. I loved that truck man and it broke my heart when he got Tboned by a Drunk driver. He lived but the truck was ruined.
