I have the same issue with my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4.7 liter. For some odd reason my truck would shut off in the middle on a busy intersection. I would have to move some wiring behind the TIPM in order the truck to start again. After all I don't have the similar problem you have with connectors coming loose. All of mine is secured but I have taken apart the TIPM for a good clean and even depin connectors to check all wiring. I did have some corrosion on the wiring part but after putting everything back together. I notice moving the TIPM while the truck is running will suddenly kill the truck. So more likely I would have to bite the bullet on buying a remanufactured TIPM.

@Michael-di4fq having a very similar problem 2005 1500 5.7 can just be idling will just shut off every 10 mins or so. Starts right back up. Also while driving it will shut off for a quick second. Buck. Then keep going. So weird. I'm leaning towards PCU/ECU as well. Fuel pressure is good. No change during the event. Just did plugs wires and coils PCV as well. No change. Can't keep throwing parts at it. For too much longer.

Another possiblity, The ASD relay will be shut-down, meaning the 12-volt power supply to the ASD relay will be de-activated by the PCM if: • The ignition key is left in the ON position. This is if the engine has not been running for approximately 1.8 seconds. • There is a crankshaft position sensor signal to the PCM that is lower than pre-determined values.

Thanks for details in case it may help others. In my case, the loose plug was 100% the issue.

When your truck would shut off, did it loose all power too? My '04 has shut off randomly a few times now and when it does all the lights and radio go dead. Sometimes its as simple as turn the key off and restart the truck, sometimes but it done it to my gf this afternoon and she tried to restart it but it did nothing, she called me and went back to it and it started right up.

Had to replace this tipm on my 06 ram. Cost small fortune. This is a known issue that dodge wont address. Their design engjneer must have been on crack when he decided to put a unsealed electeonic computer board in a dirty, dusty and wet environment.

How do you get to the wiring under fuse box ?
@HeatherPooh4 ай бұрын
1. Remove the screw on the lower left side of the fuze box. The prior owner of my truck didn't include it & I put a random screw. It doesn't tighten, but it still keeps it from shifting. 2. Remove the big bolt holding it onto the fender w/a 1/2 inch socket or size 13 if it's really rusty like mine was. 3. Flip it over & have a peek! I used 2 neon orange zip ties to hold my culprit down😅

They come with a sliding lock that needs to be locked once in place which doesn’t allow them to move.
@marenothecarguy8361 Жыл бұрын
The sliding lock breaks, that’s why it slide out in error. The sides of the sliding lock is thin plastic. Over the years it becomes brittle due to constantly heating up and cooling off in the engine bay, not to mention Dodge put it in an area exposed to the day to day elements.

@marenothecarguy8361 Жыл бұрын
The fuse box under the hood are known for causing electrical issues due to the awful location Dodge put them. They are subjected to the worst weather conditions in that location, especially in the mid west with the road salt in the winter. I took mine out and cleaned the connections and the truck runs so much smoother.
