Drove 4 hours to Detroit. My first ever game at Comerica Park! Just got back to my hotel so I couldn't catch this live. Great comeback and amazing most game fireworks. Staying for tomorrow's game too.

Throwing Philips in the 6th makes sense. His ERA the last 15 days is 3.86 , hasnt been sharp recently. There is a very good possibility that he comes in rusty and with bad control he gives up a run to the first 3 batters. At that point you still have time to score runs in 7-9 innings. If the game is tied and you bring him in the 9th after several games of no action, with bad control, then the game is over.

Shohei after struggling lately at bat, needed that hit to come through in the 9th inning clutch, I said before it happened, Shohei after struggling in Philly and throughout today's game, lost 4 in a row, coming off losing 3 of them to Philly, game is tied, what better way to have that losing streak come to an end and for him to break out of his personal slump, with that ground rule double to score in Taylor for our first lead of the game.

The problem is, the play like they THINK they can win the WS. They need to play like they BELIEVE they can win the WS.

Man, I shudder to think where this team would be if not for this bullpen. They're the reason why they're winning a lot of the time lately. Starters been shakey, the offense disappears so often, but even with a couple of 1 run shots here or there, the pen has been the saving grace (no pun intended) for this team. And yet they don't get the credit they deserve. I know people out there do sing their praises, but still--need more.

i would love if they traded for arozarena. i wouldn't be surprised if they asked about him when getting the glasnow deal done in the offseason. i think they're more likely to get a keirmeir tho, lol. elite CF defense, friedman loves him, but bat leaves a lot to be desired. he's got dodger written all over him.

So much for saving Phillips for the 9th inning… perhaps Dave knew something yesterday and that is why he matched Phillips up with the bottom 3 in their lineup…
