Even if the Archons aren’t the ones granting visions, it really feels whoever that does really likes granting them based on the Archon’s general ideals

if there is something in common i find in anemo vision holders, it's that they're driven to continue the legacy of their friends or predecessors. Jean with Venessa and her mom (i think she's doing the duty of gunnhildr clan or something i forgot), Sucrose and her two friends, Xiao and his fellow yakshas, Sayu and her master, Kazuha and his friend, Venti and his bard friend. They're trying to honor the dream and duty of their loved one and continue it even if they're going to get hurt or lose themselves in the process. Their predecessors usually died, disappeared, or simply never mentioned anymore in current story, and i think that's why many people think anemo vision = dead friend. However, I dont think it's the criterion of receiving anemo vision since it's either happened in far past or when they're already have the vision.

I like believe that each Anemo user have thier own view about freedom. But they also struggles with senses of loneliness, being tied to their respective duties or loss or separation from people dear to them. For Kazuha, is hearing nature and the wind's call. He is the most connected to his element, aside from Barbatos himself. He is free from his restraints of being tied of his house name, and wandering aimlessly around the world. For Sucrose, she is feels more confident being around chemicals and doing experiments than being around people. Thus the creation of her paradise, is her wish to re-connect with old friends. For Jean, is her duty as protector of Mondstadt and wants to uphold the Lion Knight's legacy. However, she chain herself with overworking with paperwork and lack of rest. She have the choice to free herself from such duties, and relies on her knights. For Xiao, his Vision is more a representation of his wish to be free. He is not longer bound by contract, but he still continues to protect Liyue because is the only way that he can to even the scales with his Karmic debt. And even Traveller, have a connection with Anemo. Remember, this is the first element that they gained. How they represent them? Simple, the Traveller is a neutral party. As outlandrers, they aren't tied to Tevyat's rules, affilations nor follow any god. They are free to walk any path they wish, however, they suffered great loss of their original homeland, wings and sibling.

The criteria behind visions seems vague likely due to how it takes into account the personal circumstances of the allogene. Look at how Fischl acquired her Vision at a Young age VS Ayato. Both instances seem wildly different at face value but start to make sense when the circumstances are examined. It's clear that the personal obstacles and how one deals with it is a criteria of a vision. Still, this means that the older you get, the harder the Obstacles will be to be worthy of a vision. So we can expect a Middle aged man getting a Vision to be a Badass equal to something like Beidou slaying Haisha or greater

I've always associated visions with simple ideas that have complex executions. Anemo to me was those who achieved independence from their greatest burdens. Jean over came alot of her struggles through mastery. Kazuha through spiritual enlightenment, sucrose through experimentation and sayu through strength. I've been looking more at who the person I'd as a whole and less as the moment they get the vision. The only one I'm having difficulty nailing down is electro

I think cryo vision holders may have the connections of being ‘out of place’ or even ‘abnormal’ for lack of a better term. Also hardships due to that. Reading the lore for the cryo gemstone, a person (Tsaritsa ?) is apologizing to someone that they had to endure the hardships of the world. They tell them to “burn down the old world for me” which could honestly just mean to set a new precedent

All the anemo users has a vision because of the fact they have wanted to be free, in other words wanting freedom. Venti is the god of freedom so it make sense if all anemo user chosen by celestia, will have the same motivation that make Venti a god of freedom, that will make them a anemo vision haver.. Kazuha got his because to be connected with wind in order to escaped the eyes of the shogun, to be free because after all he was wanted at that time when he become a wonderer. Xiao he wanted to free the world from demons, hence his title as the conqueror of demons Sayu wanted to escape her large opponent in order to be free Jean got her vision because she wanted to protect the freedom of others, but in my opinion she got her vision because she wanted to be free from the pressured of the fatui, assuming the fatui has been whispering about her if she can even fight because she doesn't have a vission(pressure because of the expectation of grand varka who is a vision user) Sucrose got her vision in order to be free from the limitation of alchemy. Also explaining why Noelle didn't get an anemo vision because of the fact she didn't wish for freedom, she was hard working but never really wish for some sort of freedom

It's definitely about finding peace. You can see it with Venti throughout his story and we know that elements behave in accordance to the archon that it derives from.

ive noticed another pattern, something that can be applied based on the vision element. in this case, the anemo archon's moniker is the "god of freedom". Coincidentally each of the anemo allogenes has some form of "freedom" taken from them but all aim to provide help to many; Jean is burdened with duty thus not allowed much of a social life but keeps all of monstadt running, Xiao needs to self isolate to prevent his karma from affecting humans but protects all of liyue, sucrose is introverted but is working to help people with her research, etc. By looking at the archons godly domains you can typically piece a pattern together to match. Anemo grants freedom to others by "taking" one of yours, geo means you've forged a metaphorical contract, electro typically means you bare a degree of renown thus being "remembered for eternity", hydro is justice thus they typically "have something to prove", pyro is currently war but i suspect the original if not a previous pyro archon was the god of passion because all pyro allogenes are passionate about something and finally cryo allogenes are all actively trying to "preserve" something of theirs (dendro currently only has 1 confirmed allogene that im aware of thus i do not have enough information to formulate a pattern other than an educated guess being "holding wisdom beyond normal standards" with baizhu basically being a miracle doctor)

I personally think that the element of a vision is defined more by the wielder's personality more than the circumstances via which it is received, although it is probably a bit of both given that people are shaped by their circumstances. The trend is not perfect, but it is pretty obvious that all Pyro allogenes are highly exuberant (just look at each character; they're all extraverted and passionate), geo ones are conscientious and orderly, and amemo (typically) seem to have undergone some sort of event that changes their perspective or course of life. Hydro seems to have a sense of refinement (minus Barbara), and cryo seems spiteful. I can't exactly figure out electro other than a lot of them tend to be idealogues, as if they have an opinion or idea about something that they have as a core of their character (Ei and eternity, Keqing and gods, Fischl and larping(?), Sara and being a shogun diehard) that they make quite obvious. This begs the question of dendro, which I personality see as a growth-oriented element. I'd imagine that these characters claim and/or acknowledge inadequacies in themselved that they aim to fix. They'd probably be improvement oriented (e.g. taking their mistakes to heart and to be better than they were before). Of course, that's just speculation. Now, this could just be Hoyoverse impressing design choices required by an element onto a character rather than fitting a character into an element, but I don't think it's an accident. Each element has specific use cases so if you were assigning visions to people under the assumption that you want them to succeed, you'd want to give them a set of tools that they are more attuned to and/or will get more or of based on their patterns of behavior. Of course i never thought about the actual circstances in which a persom gets a vision. It be interesting if how a person goes about an open-ended situation would get them one element instead of another. For example, I could see Beidou as a Pyro character just as much as an electro, so why did she get what she did? Either way, I'm excited for this series.

Anemo visions are the trickiest to acquire. An anemo holder is a person who has a very lofty goal, perhaps one they may never achieve. Something they have sworn an oath to. Realistic goal or not, they'll follow their heart and strive for it all the same. Some may die trying! Once they've committed their whole self to that goal, the anemo vision appears. Whether that be to protect humanity (as an adeptus or a mortal), honour a loved one's memory or family name, become a genius alchemist despite constant failure, live a poor but noble life or maybe just grow TALL. Alternatively, maybe you've an incredible passion for something like adventuring, fireworks, fishblasting, cooking, your undertaker job or being a superhero at night? Pyro! Do you lead an unusual way of life outside the social norms? Dont fit in? Think you're a wolf or a princess from another land? Go against the grain? Pick fights with gods and argue with adeptus? Electro for you. Are you the victim of unusual circumstances? Cursed? Blessed? Immortal? Orphaned princess or heir? A zombie? Then you're cryo. Maybe you have a rare and unique talent or an incredibly unusual skill, trait or interest that few others ever master? Maybe you're the first person to ever tread your path? You've got born talent or trained hard. You are the 1 in a million. Then you're a hydro vision holder. Loyal, committed, devoted, steadfast and driven? Enjoy your geo vision. These are just my conclusions. But so far, the patterns fit! Can you think of any that dont?

i kinda noticed a pattern. pyros visions:held by people with talent and great faith in what they do,from the young yet genious klee who crafts pyro bombs at such age,to diluc who owns the dawn winery and exels at being a guardian of mosntadt from the shadows,to the rock n roll girl who despite being disliked by some people for her choice of looks she still follows her passion and has great beleif in it,to yanfei who is a walking law encylopedia,to benette who despite some failures in adventures just deosnt let it get to him,to thoma the multi talented boy,to hutao who has a rather interesting take on death and life and isnt shaken by anyone's thought abo;t it. hyrdro visions:the pattern here is a bit interesting for me,basically every hydro vision holder now is someone with both looks and status,ik they all go beyond that but those 2 criterias interested me becoz it felt like they reaveal something bout the archon it?idk tbh,its worth noting that each of them has their own share of responsibilties. cryo visions:their owners are quite calm people but also too cold in personality in some cases,now altho ayaka is so kind and reasonable,her social life wasnt that good due to her duties,in some point we discover she doesnt know how to act around friends because she almost has none,and if you,check the others,like kaeya,you can also notice some cold in his personality,a little,probably the least of all the cryo visions holders,and the rest they follow the same pattern too,might even add that they get focused on their tasks too much. electro visions:finding a pattern in this one is actually the hardest part for me,but i guess that one commun ting between them is that they value their entourage a lot?. anemo visions:they all that friend(s) they carry on and/or share with their dream and ambition,alongside a calm nature. geo visions:ALL their holders are people responsible for the safety of a group of cheriched people not just out of DUTY but its something they are very commited to it,like itto and his gang,goro and his army,even noelle who helps out everone in monstadt when she can,and not to mention ningguang and liyue. thats what i notcied.

Also I always thought Xiao didn’t technically have a vision bc of the contradictions between the in game story and his dev notes. The dev notes say that since Xiao only normally appears in human form, he wears a vision to comply. Also I assumed only humans could receive visions so? I just assumed he was like cloud retainer and could just manipulate the wind, or even a wind spirit like Venti. I mean either way, he’s tied to Anemo and I enjoy these types of analysis xD and all that to say his vision of freedom could be a bit different or that it’s interesting that he still fits along with the Anemo motifs

Until we know definitely weather if all visions are personally granted by The Seven, it'll be fair to speculate that they work a little like how the Lantern Rings in DC Comics work- Each ring is programmed with a set of very specific criteria of personality traits and sensibilities that it constantly searches for, and bonds to the nearest person who either reaches a certain threshhold or has a critical moment during which he or she embodies these criteria the most.

I always thought that Anemo vision holders are individuals who have undergone and surpassed tremendous hardships and pain. Kazuha, losing his friend and finding peace. Jean, being acting grandmaster on short notice. Sucrose, finding a solution to her experiments. Xiao, being saved by Morax. I think Peace is a better way to call it hahaha.

Meanwhile pyro: you're pretty dedicated have a vision

All vision holders seem to represent a form of what that element represents, like freely doing what your passionate for or living the way you want to live. The whole dead or lost friend theme seems to be a coincidence, however it's safe to say that any anemo users might have that sort of thing in their background. ( With a few exceptions probably) And in turn certain elements might have a certain pattern to them as well, that could actually help us figure out what that elements archon backstory will be like. I don't have many characters so I dont know what the pattern could be for most of the others, but I do know that cryo seems to have a family theme. Makes me wonder if the Tsarista had a father figure of sorts who died during the cataclysm, Ei had a twin so who's to say gods cant have parents?

I will point out, all the anemo users (except maybe Sayu, I’m not entire sure about this declaration) embody the ideal of freedom because of their selfless pursuit of protecting it for others.

I mainly noticed that anemo users strive for independance. Jean wants to be able to do everything on her own, sayu wants to be left to take care of her height on her own, xiao protects liyue on his own, kazuha wants to go wherever the wind leads him on his own.....

I'd like to see Pyro next. That one should be the easiest as I'm pretty sure that's the one that made people notice there might be a pattern to begin with. Other than that, I'd like to See Cryo (since that one may show evidence of such a selection with Chongyun's story) or Electro.

I thought the pattern for anemo was "freedom", not "peace". Or perhaps since monstad is "the city of freedom" you didnt want to make it that simple?

I like to think that Xiao didn't used to have a vision before meeting Rex Lapis. If I remember correctly, Xiao was once enslaved by an evil god who forced Xiao to perform terrible acts and one of such acts is devouring the dreams of his victims. This means that Xiao used to be a dream-devouring spirit or something before meeting Rex Lapis. Only when he was freed from the evil god did he gain the anemo vision. Even though he may not be technically free due to the duties he placed on upon himself even after Rex Lapis's death, at least he is doing it by his own free will. I am not completely familiar with Xiao's backstory as I don't have him but this is what I can conclude from what I remember. Please do enlighten me if I have some things wrong.

I was thinking about how sayu has been unable to grow taller and it made me think, do visions keep the allogenes to an unaging state just like the achons? It would make sense as a way to prepare them to replace an archon. For example we know qiqi is very old but still looks like a kid, to be fair that is also because of the adepti powers and all. I'm sure there is an example of a vision holder aging I just can't think if anyone at the moment. This little theory is probably wrong but something to think about. When it comes down to it we don't know the entire purpose or reason behind the visions. Let alone any possible side effects.
