deadass haven’t played this game in a month. i’ve had over 300 hours over the last 2-3 years of the game. they’ve genuinely ruined themselves with this years bullshit

I 100% completed every program, BR, ranked, and event in season 1. Got the 60k xp head start for season 2. Haven’t played a minute of season 2 and am done with the game. If sets/seasons are back next year, I won’t be. Been a hardcore DD player since ‘17.

Burnt out is definitely the best description. They need to rethink season roll outs because repeatedly grinding over and over again just isn’t fun. The good news though is NCAA Football 25 is coming soon. I hope you’d be willing to do some videos on that.

I grinded everything in s1 and as soon as it turned to s2 I lost desire to play anything other than road to the show and that became dull

I’m in the same boat. I haven’t finished a single season 2 program. Have no desire to make World Series. It’s unfortunate because I could spend hours playing this game but being married , working full time and having a 2 year old I’m just burnt out

You have always been a positive content creator for the show. I have grinded the show since it was made by 989 sports. They have gone in a different direction, and we are all bored. I have still grinded all the programs but have only purchased the Jackie pack and the Negro league pack. Waiting for Ncaa. Always enjoy your content, continued success, buddy

The depressing part is gonna be All star content in a couple of weeks and it will be lackluster 93-95 ovrs. That will suck and be nail in coffin in this game

I went back to MLB 23. Season 2 killed the game for me. The season 1 grind absolutely drained me. I don’t want to do it again just to start all over again in season 3.

Im currently redownloading MLB the show 21. This year is horrible sets and season has ruined. Daily xp cap kills my only couple of days to grind.

The thing about this model is I don’t wanna spend my stubs on cards that will be phased out in a couple weeks. I’m not spending 50k-100k stubs on a 90 overall card. It’s just weird really. Now that I’m done with the live collection I genuinely don’t know what I would spend any stubs on besides maybe filling out the season collections. I guess I could finish the stadium collection lol. I feel bad for all the Twitch and KZfaq guys because content is DRY and they’re streaming other games and it’s June. We’re not even at the all star break and the community feels dead.

I'm with you on the packs. I've bought 2 packs (the 2 Captain Packs) all year. I've never had as many stubs this early in the game cycle as I do now. I have over 700k. I usually don't get that until the end of the game cycle. There's usually always cards that I want, but right now I have 700K and not 1 card I feel is worth buying. This game is in a really bad spot.

I don’t mind seasons as I’m not an online competitive player so grinding again isn’t a problem. There are 2 big issues for me - the lack of enough new legends resulting in limited variety (particularly that there is now loads more TA) and the reduction in content.

So, other than the original sale of the game, in game purchases are the biggest way the company makes money? Mind blowing who would have thought.

I acquired some great cards right before the season changed. Haven't been able to use them. They should have at least handled it like last year and let us use s1 and s2 until s3, and then excluded s1. They totally screwed it up.

Soon as season 2 started I stopped playing and I’m only investing in players so I can have all the 99s that come out if I even want to play

Yes they give you a pack in Season Awards, and you have to choose drop 1 or drop 2..BUT that's where the picking ENDS! If you get a card you ALREADY bought, you can exchange it in TA OR QS it, BUT you CANNOT list it in the Marketplace...whic totally KILLS the incentive.

The season 2 affininty chapter 1 players were trash, and I had no energy to grind for them, I can only imagine resetting season 3 back to 89 player's also

This is the worst year of "The Show" i can ever remember, and ive been playing since "The Show 17". We have never gotten so little content....and worse, the minuscule amount of content we do get is boring, uncreative, cut & paste laziness. Hasnt the dev team ever played past games? Were they all hired in the last 6 months and given no leadership? Award Drops are not real content -- they are busy work used to sell packs. We get these ridiculous 40 point "programs" that would embarrass the SDS team of a few years ago. What is the dev team doing? It was smaller and exponentially more productive 5 years ago. Who is running the content team? Do they have ANY experience playing the game? We literally get the same 2 things over and over --Award Drops & city connect conquest maps. Both are fine as extra side content, ALONG WITH real programs & events....but they ARE the content. It feels like they replaced a skilled, experienced team with a bunch of lazy gen Z quiet quitters. I know Playstation is worried about money, and its probably behind the push to sell more packs, and stubs -- but running the worst live service of "The Show's" existence, & seemingly ignoring the community, aint going to motivate us to break out our wallets. SDS has a slumlord mentality -- My customers are dead beats so let them deal with what they got, and if they dont give me money, ill make things even worse. Sony has serious issues....Playstation is spiraling ...and being unable to run a competent version of "The Show" in 2024 -- shows a total lack of talent, creativity, & accountability, not just at SDS but at Playstation. Did no one at SDS think about the College Football game coming out this summer? Were they just resigned to losing all their players, so they said "F it"? There should have been a full court press to excite the player base, and create loyalty going into the summer -- Instead we get....go hit 10 XBHs with your SS....again. "Yay you unlocked an 87 overall thats already irrelevant...and has no resale value...oh you cant resell it anyway. What pissed me off the most this year is that you can’t buy Nike equipment or Jordan equipment in the marketplace and all I want is a Nike compression sleeve, the trout cleats and a diamond Nike Fieldind glove I spent so much money like an idiot and I still can’t get that stuff in packs and I don’t know if there’s any way to earn it because no says anything

Grinded all programs, got 2 mil XP in Season 1, finished Live Series and haven't played since. Just claimed the free Judge and I haven't touched it gameplay-wise. I'm burned out, I'll be back in Season 4 when I can just buy and use whatever players I want.

SDS will find out and learn the hard way when NCAA drops mid July, and the player base drops even further than it has already. Once they realise they have screwed their loyal player base over and they have walked away it will be to late. Grind for what, no stubs, only Mid cards and endless limitations on who and who you cannot use. Whats the point to paying players for likeness rights when we cannot use their cards anyway!

Bro I play this game a lot, but I’ve resorted to doing the new programs like TA and Season Awards Drops, then just playing Coop Ranked because I’m bored after that. I’d love to try all these new cards, and if I could grind to get them I would. With this content setup however I’d rather just save my stubs for end game 99s and buy those when I see them. I can still use those 99s in Coop. Don’t get me wrong I’ve got the stubs to buy all the new cards just like you, even though I’ve spent $8 on this game since buying it. I make tons of stubs off card flipping and investing. I just see very little value in all these trash 90-93s coming out that will be obsolete in 2 weeks.🤷‍♂️

I really believe that it you have live series done you legit don't need any s2 card. U can make a team that can carry you for a while if you use the captain boosts they gave us

This game is an exact copy and paste of last year's game with a bunch of new bugs. That's why everyone is so bored of the game. They gave us nothing new and kept seasons that nobody wanted. They claimed hundreds of new animations and yet I still haven't seen many at all in 500 hours on the game. The game is in desperate need of a complete overhaul and that won't happen until they fully integrate to next gen. SDS is destroying their own game at this point

I don’t really care about the packs because if you just play the programs you end up with a really good team for free (as you do every year). I’ve ended up with a few of the cards from free packs also. The big issue for me is the seasons structure. I completed every program in season 1 but I didn’t get close to enough XP to get a boss… and it wouldn’t matter anyways because I can’t use that card/cards in season 2. Obvi there are wildcards but being able to only use 1 or a couple of the cards you just spent months grinding for is dumb. They need to make all new card art. They keep releasing old cards we’ve already earned in the past or recycling card art. That’s inexcusable to me. Come up with something new… that’s the easiest thing to do. I really think the amount of diamonds and the progression of overalls messes up the game. Last year really messed up with the day one 99. There should be golds and maybe even some silvers that people fall in love with and use in their lineups. Diamonds should be rare. We have thousands of bronze silver and gold cards in the game and they’re completely worthless.

This year is by far the worst since I’ve been playing dd in 2020. It all started when the collections rewards were so shitty. I don’t anticipate to grind for 93s at the all star break.

I wish they did selective player programs like MLB 21 where you gridded for the 99 cards at the end but I guess they just want us all to take MLB 24 and stick it up our you know whats

Honestly was enjoying s1 but going from 99s back to 85-89 is brutal. Can’t justify to grind like crazy again for cards to be obsolete in a matter of weeks. They need to make the “grind” EXTREMELY EASY like one hit moment type of easy especially for these trash cards

Haven’t played in a week woke up to my entire account reset and put in a ticket and they said there’s nothing they can do I had all bosses from S1 xp and collection and live series done all gone in a day

You want to see how successful the pack model has been...check the parallel progress of the packs/TA cards...so few are even playing at all anymore

Honestly I wanna play and grind stuff out but as someone who mainly plays offline I have nothing to do but play mini seasons over and over. There’s simply not enough content to grind. We need more programs. Those ‘Codename’ packs could’ve been 2 new programs but their new business model doesn’t allow it.

I’m not bored but it is kinda dull. I’ve completed every program but two divisions in Team Affinity. Hopefully I’ll finish sooner than later.

Hey Twin. Love your content. I stopped playing the game a couple of weeks ago. The sad thing is cover athlete Guerrero is my favourite current player and the 99's this season (Griffey, Chipper, Big Hurt) are my favourites of all time but, even then, I still don't feel to play. I wish they would change things up. It's always about pack content and 99's that you need to spend hours to get.

I don’t like it either. I hate it myself. I need stubs to get my MLB collections done and I can’t pull the big boys from each of the teams I have left which are the Dodgers, Braves, and Yankees.

after i dropped 200+hours into season 1 completed all the programs and 130 games in dd and did not even get one boss player i really do not want to play anymore. season collection is also impossible without money and all my cards got taken away. get rid of these season garbage

Yea this game doesn’t keep me wanting to grind it everyday like all the others have. For me, once the next season started and all my other cards basically became useless, besides a singular wild card spot, it took away just some feeling I can’t explain lol. I do not like the sets at all. I just want to have a year long power creep with cards I can use forever. I love the captain boosts and supercharged players and I wish we could just have a year long power creep and they just continue adding different captains and all that. And yes everything is in packs and I will not buy a single pack. This game just isn’t as rewarding to play. Give me MLB 21 style, I think it was 21, but add captains and supercharged players. These devs just want to not listen to us and do stupid stuff that is “cool”

Finished Season 1. Haven't touched Season 2. It is not worth the time and effort to plug away at a game that limits my XP, stuffs the shop with the best cards, and SDS flat-out ignores all of it. Not to mention, the seasonal model is stupid af. Grind for 2-3 weeks, play with the cards for a week, and then it's over, and the next drop happens. This model has ruined this franchise for me. I was on the fence this year, and I barely got it the day before release, but I won't be duped again. More greed, less fun. SDS has lost its way. I can't wait for NCAA and Madden (not for MUT; I never played it and never will).

I feel like the 4 seasons has to do with quarterly report..i think the format would be ok with 2 seasons and a slower power creep..if theres more than 2 seasons next year i wont be buying it

I wouldn't be surprised if they've lost revenue off of this. Everyone I've talked to, streamer and just normal player, have said that this is the worst game so far, and it's not really fun anymore. One of the bigger streamers I know said that if it wasn't for the fact that he did it for a job, he wouldn't be playing the game.

I’m not burnt out, I’m still willing to grind. But the content and gameplay give me no reason, no motivation to play the game. Foul balls are still a problem (3 years in a row now), perfect perfect outs every single game, and we all know how absolutely trash their content structure has been. Crazy to see a game fall off in real time.

I used to hold the belief that SDS would rebound and make an amazing experience after having a bad game the year before (MLB 19 following MLB 18 as an example). Instead they doubled down on what made everything worse in the game with no end in sight.

Anyone else flat out suck this year? I usually have roughly 2x more wins than losses, but I'm barely over .500 this year. I'm not the best hitter, but my pitching usually keeps me in every game. You all know how pitching is this year.

Sorry ahead, I am not native speaking … I have lots of fun with this year‘s game, especially if you compare it to the last year. Building up the team and playing against other teams that have actual weaknesses is the best and we can have that. BUT … The Game does not challenge my time. I do not have to do different stuff to make my team better. Look at 21. We had some awesome programs where we also could earn packs AND players. There was lots of stuff to do … lots of stuff you could do to improve your team. You could choose not to but sometimes it was wiser to do it. This year this is not the case. I only play ranked and the conquest. I wait out the season drops and do them altogether (especially the ToppsNow and SA-misssions) since the rewards do not make my team any better (I am running the Live-Series-Captain (full boost) … In conclusion: I get all the frustration. Content should have increased starting with S2 to challenge our time. And it did not. Packs in the shop are only another symptom but not the cause

Seasons and the removal of Y2Y saves have ruined this game.

Fact is this game for years was the best with content, the season model they are using I get what they trying to do and have it like 4 game launches in 1. The content overall is good. the issue the access to the content is horrible, it's mostly been 1 content drop a week with 75% of the card in the store. Then when the content does come it's all at once and its always the same type of grind, XP mission with a showdown, mini season, conquest and moments. I have played Madden, MLB, EA FC and NBA2k this year, NBA2k is the clear worst. but MLB used to be first and right now even with the greed of EA the game EA FC, MLB also hide like 20 cards in online modes that most people can never get to. Im an international player and the delay in online games is horrible. Everyone for years has said if EA or 2k had competition it would be good for the game, in the last few months is the first time ive heard people say MLB the show needs competition from another baseball game.

I will say if Co-op didn’t exist or they didn’t allow us to use “out of season” cards I wouldn’t be touching this game.

The problem is even if you want to play they throw a XP block on you. So basically it bricks the game. I don’t but there’s no reason to play if there’s no return. And cap was created because SDS has no clue how to make new content. Seasons is a crash and burn and I’m seeing the negativity on KZfaq from players that are getting tired of the way the game is headed and the lack of new a worthy content. I’ve always bought the game that came with all the perks including early access. No more! When I have to pay (XP CAP) because “they” can’t come up with new Good content, no thank you I’m not on board.

When chase pks give u crappy low diamond players but the top players from 4 teams cost you over a mil stubs to get it's ridiculous I've been playing since 2015 and ever since Mike Tout was the main live series card I always had to buy his card could never get him in over all the pks collected and bought now Ohtani Judge Mookie Trout cost over 600k stubs which equals about 4 to 5 hundred real dollars in stubs unless u get lucky in BR rewards or a earned pack I quit this past Friday done the grind is monotonous same ol and the rewards suck pre-ordered NCAA anyway so I won't be back ever to the show

a lot of content is good. it it happens to quick and if you fall behind it’s hard to want to hop back on. it’s too much cpu grind because once you finish a program a new one drops and the previous cards aren’t useable. unless you play for a living it’s too much for casual players. ncaa may kill the game lol
