It actually has a mixture of how you've bred them , you find it that when you get your first born, you definitely take the best care, and your kinda hard of them, you want the best for them.,and for the last ones, you're already exhausted

Im the middle child. I was the mediator. I kept the peace. Good at problem solving but average grades. Very creative. My eldest bro hated school so gave up but then went on to do a phd. He's the only doctor in the family. Youngrer bro was the A+++ student that went on to get a masters at uni. I never did further education and Im happiest being mama to my 3 children.

My brother and I are both involved in the dance world, mainly ballet, my Brother who was first born, I'm second, found a great job, he's now a director, very secure lifestyle. As for me, I've spent my career traveling the country, exploring the areas deeply, befriending the locals everywhere. When we were young, He would always tell me I needed to pick one thing and be really good at it, I've always believed I could be mostly good at allot of things, and learn to get better at most, and that's what I have done!

Without listening to the video, I’m sure it actually does. It certainly affects your personality.

Thats interesting. My sister 13 my brother 9 and myself 3. Mother left for a guy half her age (17). Dad worked so hard to support us. I am the achiever and the doer and risk taker as other 2 had kids when they was 17 both unmarried. Did nothing with their life. One married for money/greed even though never loved them. Other became a wife beater. Youngest strongest as we all come from different beginnings. 😊

I Love Adam Grant 😍 Can't wait to read this book! I am a single mom of 3 boys (ages 12, 16 and 18 now 🫣). I've always described my youngest as "fearless", and I half jokingly attribute this to the fact that later siblings have the benefit of seeing that their caregiver managed to keep the other offspring alive, so they know they're going to be fine! 😂 First time moms are a mess, so first borns are more careful and aware because they can kind of tell that we don't know what f**k we're doing 😬😆 Also, it's usually more of a team effort with later siblings. They are looked after and often catered to by older siblings so they feel safer taking risks because someone is always going to be there for them if they fall 🤷🏼‍♀️

In my case the exact opposite is true. I’m the oldest, the highest achiever and the one who always took risks. The youngest in my family is the one who always wants to take the safe or easy way.

Even before watching, I can tell the statistics. Normally first child go through normal norms, such as get education and maybe working 9-5 job. Parents are new to parenting and typically would force conventional route on their child. Last child, parents already experienced and also put so much focus on prior children that they relax their enforcement. I don’t think IQ have to do with sequence of birth but it could be related to experience and exposure. Unrestricted thinking could make more creative thinking and thus higher IQ.

Give me a break. The only things my brother (oldest of 3) ever taught me was how to burp, how to cross one eye, and how to quack. The youngest, in my family, appears to have the highest IQ .

How about we don’t forget that just because someone is from the same family, they do NOT get the same parents. A 25 year old parent will probably be significantly different from a 45 year old parent. A parent of a single child vs a parent of multiple children.

Agree. And my sister is 20 months older than me, we definitely didn't get the same parents ! My brother, last one 3 years younger than me arrived as an expected king to be born after girls and yes you guessed, didn't received the same parents either...

Please read about Les Binet and frequency. I’m being stalked by Huel ads everywhere - it must be costing a fortune. It’s becoming very annoying.

As the oldest, I can say both my younger siblings are both smarter academically while growing up. 😂 they tried harder as well. I have higher EQ. It's true that I had to teach and encourage my siblings to do things I never got to do and to not fear it. They're definitely more comfortable with taking risks. Thank you to my middle sibling for doing everything first and setting the boundaries while I struggled academically. 🥲 I'm in my late 20's and my parents still fear me being independent and want me at home while both my younger siblings have moved out at least once. 😅
