Does CJ Sansom's Sovereign work as a theatre production?

I recently saw the stage adaptation of Sovereign at York Theatre Royal. It was a screening of a live show which I sadly couldn't go to but I am thrilled to have seen the recording of it. In this video, I discuss whether the novel by CJ Sansom was successfully adapted into a theatrical performance.

Hi Charlotte. I’ve just come across your review. Thank you for the positive review. I was one of the cast and it is great to get such wonderful feedback. just a couple of points for you, Fergus and Sam (Shardlake and Barak) were the only professional actors in the cast and the music was actually performed by a live choir, who were off to the left of the main stage. I'm also looking forward to the Disney adaptations.

I wanted to see Sovereign in York but same thing, real life stuffs getting in the way. Thanks for the review :) I'm a bit edgy about the Disney adaption, but looking forward to it also.

I’m really hoping they put it online as I’m sure people would pay to watch it. Yeah I’m so nervous about the adaptation… surely we’ll have a trailer soon?! 🫣
