This video, if nothing else, has reaffirmed my hatred of "and if you do"; a conjunctive in YGO that, by mechanics, must have the clauses happen sequentially, because the game checks that clause "A" happened successfully before allowing clause "B" to happen. However, in terms of timing, i.e. "missing the timing", the clauses are considered to happen at the same time, so optional trigger effects that had their trigger met in either clause can activate. Which means the clauses linked by the "and if you do" conjunctive exist in some quantum state where they happen both sequentially and simultaneously, and that always confuses me.

Out of curiosity, is there any case (including cases involving cards that don't but could exist) where thinking of self-stat-modifying lingering effects* as being continuous effects that are added to the card would lead to believing that an interaction would work differently than it actually would? *to be clear, I am referring to all the lingering effects that fade when their host's effects are negated and no others. I believe "self-stat-modifying" unambiguously refers to that set of effects, but am not certain, hence this clarification.

Both printings of Multifaker have the “except during the damage step” clause. So either he has an exceptionally rare misprint or my boi be capping

That imperm - protocol question was insane. Literally how?! I understand Coder says that Protocol doesn't prevent effects being negated, it just allows negated effects to resolve as though they aren't negated, but WHY?!? THE CARD TEXT LITERALLY SAYS "The activation and effects of "Altergeist" cards activated on your field *CANNOT BE NEGATED*".

6:16 So hypothetically in this situation, while Kunquery triggers before Borreload can activate, if there was a Silquitous on board instead of a Kunquery in the hand (and for some reason Silq hasn't bounced Borreload already), since Borreload and Silq are both quick effects, Borreload can activate it's effect first in response to it's attack, and then Silq can chain to _that_ ?

Kenquery is a trigger effect. In this case, turn player doesn't matter. So Kenquery gets to activate first. (Correct) 5. Altergeist multifaker effect doesn't miss the timming (If>you can). It can activate. (Incorrect... so... monsters sent to the graveyard meet their trigger and activate at the end of the Damage step. Didn't know that) 6. Rock activation send altergeist to grave. Spoofing Chain link 2. Resolution: Spoofing returns Rock ad adds multifaker. Last things we can respond to include the activation of a Trap card. Multifaker can activate. (Incorrect. True, it felt bad since I know that is not a cost... so I'm gonna be more careful when on resolution) 7. Impermanence needs to negate a monster effect to negate effects on column (then conjunction), so impermanence won't negate Marionetter nor Protocol and Marionetter will resolve. (Incorrect. Tbh the multifaker one indicating it cannot be used in the damage step doesn't matter, it is just a reminder text, not a condition that prevents you from activating it in the damage step, it is put there because a lot of players don't know which effects can and cannot be activated in the damage step so they add this reminder text to avoid illegal activations during the damage step. There is a list of cards/effects that can be activated in the damage step which I am not going to post right now but one of the items on the list are triggers whose activation requirement is the card itself moving to a different location (like sangan getting to the GY, armageddon knight summoned from the deck to the field, etc.) and multifaker is not one of these triggers so it cannot be used in the damage step.

So basically Protocol does fuck all

For the last question that happens to me a lot with GB Vespasius and GB Darius in Duel Links, Vespasius will activate his effect (All monsters you control gain 500 ATK) when summoned by Darius and then the effect will be negated. The game show my monsters gain 500 atk for a brief moment

Here's a ruling question that may be too early to ask, but I'm curious. I was on edopro testing Exorsister. I was facing against Zoodiac. I had an Exorsister Elise, Sophia and and Elaine face-up on my field: My opponent summons TigerMortar; Detaches Ratpier; and reattaches Ratpier. My Exorsisters' effect to xyz summon using themselves as material doesn't activate. Why is this?

I think I did okay, I missed 1 1/2. I missed the Memorygant ruling, and I gave myself half credit on the Multifaker Sangan one because I did have the correct answer but my reasoning was incorrect (I thought Multifaker's effect would have to chain to the trap card, and therefore couldn't trigger when Solemn Strike activated since it's spell speed 3, but Multifaker's effect activates in a new chain)

One real ruling about altergeist is the trap manifestation. I am an altergeist player and the mistranslation about the manifestation is a very intresting ruling to know about the archetype!

I didn't even need to read Multifaker effect to know it can't summon during damage step. It hasn't happened once in any of my Guru vs Altergeist matches.

So, just for my understanding: At the last ruling, if the monster in question would be a cherubini instead of the altergeist dude the Atk Buff would stay since it can boost any BA monster? Like, say I activate Cherubini targeting itself, I send a scarm for cost and after that resolves Skill drain is activated. My cherubini would stay at 1300 ATK?

Can someone explain the Borreload vs. Kunquery interaction? How come Kunquery is allowed to activate first? It is well known that Borreload can "dodge" Mirror Force by having the turn player hold priority and use Borreload's effect on attack declaration. Both Mirror Force and Kunquery have the "When your opponent's monster declares an attack..." PSCT, so how come these two scenarios aren't comparable?

You can only use this effect of "Twilight Ninja Shingetsu" once per turn.) Can my opponent enter bf and declare attack? I have always play this and the way it goes is my opponets will declare attack, then I will explain that they must att A but B will " trigger" therefore A " triggers" and so on, I know the eff does not trigger but thats whow I explain it and explain the eff is not a trigger eff. YEP DOUBLE XD
