Testing Green Gobbler on a tough Clog

Good day…. I had a horrible clog that backed up my toilet and shower. I dumped 2 bags of the powder green gobbler into my toilet and one down the drain. I let it sit overnight and tried flushing/running the shower. Still clogged. I asked the plumber to come over after i got off work. When he arrived, the clog was completely unclogged. Long story short, I dont think you waited long enough.

Should’ve gave it overnight. I’ve used green gobbler in the bathtub and a sink and left it over night, woke up no standing water, flushed with hot water and both drained perfect

Just used this stuff on my bathtub. Drain LOOKED completely clean, even snaked it with an 8ft snake and NOTHING. Dumped both applications of this stuff down it in the morning, went to work, checked the drain when I got home 8 hours later and it flowed like new.

If you read the instructions you’re supposed to pour in hot water after letting it sit I’m just saying 🤷🏻‍♂️

You did it wrong. Take out the excess water then pour the Green Gobbler and wait an hour then pour a pot of boiling water in the hole and wait and hour or so. You should hear a loud swhoosh after a while

I had the same problem awhile back cost me 275 from my plumber grease had hardened in the drain pipe they had to cut it out and replace a section. But since then the fix I have discovered for grease clogs is pour the original blue dawn dish soap In the drain about a half bottle then boil some water and slowly pour it in behind the dawn works great every time.

Yeah this is why you don't pour oil down the sink.
@danielgomes4754

Clogs like this, you first need to drain the water. Go below the sink and open the air trap, clear as much of blockage you can and remove as much of blockage from the drain pipe. Then try to pour some hot water and use whatever drain cleaner you have. Just trying to force the clog down the drain may make the clog worse. Subsequently use filters/strainers on both sink drains and avoid pouring oil residue in the drain. come up with a maintenance schedule every few months.

Just used half a bottle on a stubborn bathtub clog. Left it in there for two hours and it worked well. Watching you carelessly playing in the water that you just poured the green gobler in 🤨🤨

Yeah you did it wrong, like red neck usually does. First remove all the water in the sink with a cup or something. Otherwise your diluting the strength of the product. Then let it sit overnight! Then you’ll be allow to complain

That'll happen when you throw your unwanted grease down the sink. Keep it in jugs and dispose of them properly

There's a multi-billion dollar drain snaking industry dedicated and waiting to charge you $275 or more to snake out the hardened grease you shouldn't throw down your drain pipes. There's also a chemical "snake-oil gobbler industry" that hopes you use them first before calling the more expensive snake guys.

Like everyone else saying you need to take out as much water as possible. Also see a doctor you shouldn’t be breathing that hard for a simple job

Judging from the crap floating around in your sink you are expecting way too much from your garbage disposal. The majority of your clog is likely in the P trap. You can't blame the product for you lack of understanding how drains work. You simply put too much stuff down your drain. The quality of your garbage disposal may also come into play. Some of them don't chop things up enough to easily flow with the water. Also a lot of people that use them don't run the water long enough to clear the solids from the 1 1 1/2 inch pipe so they settle and cling to the edge. Anyway I have a blockage in my kitchen sink that a 25 foot snake didn't clear so I'm off to buy some Green Gobbler as a last resort. I may report back with the results if I remember. Thanks for this video. You gave it your best shot. How much did the plumber charge you and what did he find?

looks like your dumping all oil and grease down your sink?
@ravenshrike
@ravenshrike Жыл бұрын
Yup, and without premixing with dish soap and running the hot water. You premix grease with some dawn and a bit of water and dump hot water down the drain before, during, and after dumping the grease and you don't get grease clogs.
