Fun fact about the movie Predator, poncho actually lived, watch the end of the movie, when the choppa finds Arnold, the general is holding poncho in his arms. It’s brief, but you can see his head. Plus in Predator 2, agent keys states that there were two survivors of the commando team. Anna was not part of the team

As a consumer we all win. Some will knit-pick Holosun and say this optic isn’t good enough but for the price , product, capability etc….. As a consumer we all win. In a few years or less someone else will make something comparable likely for the same price or cheaper. I’m not focused on the drawbacks. I’m focused on the innovation and what will come after it.

Awesome video as always boys! Man I like that system! It would be super sick to see what it looks like through the optic while shooting live ammo at steel targets at night. I bet seeing the heat signature from the rounds flying and impacts on steel and the steel heating up would be nuts!

I feel fortunate to have grown up in the 80’s watching action movies like Rambo, Predator, Aliens, Terminator and such. Even the cartoons like G.I.Joe, He-Man, Thunder Cats and X-Men were so much better than the unoriginal, regurgitated crap produced today.

Steiner, Infiray, Thales, all make or made competitors. Thales is military / LE only. The others cost roughly double although the Infiray does have a much better sensor. As does the Thales.

I think it depends on your use case for which one to get. If your planing on using it on living things a thermal is nice. But if your wanting to shoot paper and steel NV is the way to go. Great job on the videos boys. I know it can’t be easy to review products like this.

Hey guys, frequent thermal user here. By chance when you were looking at that unrecognizable heat signature, could you have been looking at a body of water? Reflective surfaces like bodies of water and glass/mirrors show the thermal image of the reflection more so than themselves and based off the limited imagery in the video that’s what it kinda looked like 🤷♂️

Doesn't this have other picture mode? I remember seeing on micha's channel with lvndmark and klean where he showed up the thermal in what appears to be a hybrid picture mode between nightvision and thermal

When you open the flaps and look through the actual glass and put the setting to outline. That’s where I believe this thing shines and stands out from other higher resolution thermals where you’re locked into a small screen box.

Holosun are again proving they are the no1 most innovative optics company in the game and as the stuff is rugged and great quality, It also looks good which is a bonus, Companies like aimpoint should be rightly embarrassed by there output of new exciting stuff 1 pistol optic in how many years, $1600 for this is pretty incredible considering the other options and it has a bullet proof warranty, At least sig no matter what any haters says about them is doing there best to offer some actual serious competition to holosun.

I've seen guys run these with a actual magnifier and they said it looked way better than using the built in zoom. Plus you'd have it with the red dot as well.

21:54 there is some day time footage using just the red dot. I really didn’t notice any difference then any other red dot. I also wasn’t looking for anything so I guess it could be said I don’t know 100% but I also didn’t notice anything so take that for what it’s worth. I genuinely like that setup for what it is. That thermal footage with Finn is pretty cool IMO.

Totally non related but I’m hoping I can get Jake’s actual opinion here. First time suppressor buyer here and I’m a lefty. Jake being a lefty also, is a flow through can entirely necessary for gas blow back to the face or just nut up and deal with a traditional can?

Honestly it’s not a simple answer. It depends on the host gun. A gun that has an adjustable gas block, the can doesn’t matter much. A inherently gassy gun you will definitely want a low back pressure can

But how’s the magnification work? Can it really be used or does it just pixelate? What about running a 3x magnifier with it? 1x can be good for 100yrds or less but for the 1-200yrds+ stuff some help is definitely needed. Especially for a PID first.

Is the red dot portion still a “true” optical type set up that could work with a magnifier atleast? Heard rumors of a pro version that’s supposed to have a better sensor, might help the pixelation some on that unit

@@gavincline209 There won't be a pro version but it works amazing well with a 3x magnifier behind it and I run mine that way fairly often.

Seen a similar thermal optic at my local gun shop, was around 2k for the lower cost and they had another for around 5k. They let me play around with it, I could see the electrical lines in the shops walls. I was shocked at how effective it was even in broad daylight. For $1600 plus tax. This system is easily worth the money. Will it hold zero under real world use is the real question. How strong is it shielded against damage from dirt, water, etc ect. I would hate to shell out $1700 just to have it shut off suddenly because it got knocked on something.

@@blackout.ghost718 Worth the money in the sense that any other thermal 1x red dot will cost you easily twice that. The Steiner CQT will run you 10k. I'll have to go back to the store to find the brand I looked at but it was a rifle based not a 1x red dot. Also it wasn't a black and white display it was like blue and magenta for the heat.
