It's just that the propaganda against them made them extremely taboo and that taboo never wore off. Of course, they're also banned in any legitimate sport so there's that. But my point was that we've had people grow up seeing Arnold deny steroid use and then end up believing that you can look like Arnold without steroids because he said so. These boxers don't even lift weights like bodybuilders and yet... what do they look like? Bodybuilders. That's how you know beyond any shadow of a doubt that they've juiced for years.
@humann56822 жыл бұрын
@@JustAGuy85 What always got me is how a fighter or any athlete could be taking something for 5 years legally, then suddenly some folks in lab coats say "actually we're going to ban this now" and the athlete doesn't realise straight away, they get busted a few months later and tarnished as a "cheater". Reality is athletes are firing tons of chemicals in to their system constantly that are offering them better performance or recovery etc... And some are legal, some are not. But like you say the propoganda was crazy. People are treated like criminals because some lab coats decided to change the rules and they didn't get the memo quick enough.

Steroid abuse usually shows up in hypertrophy of the masseter muscle in the jaw (strongest muscle in the body), and in acne located on the torso (chest and back). Hey Joe, biochemical fact, it doesn't help you recover as much as you think. It does reduce intramuscular inflammation which "sort of" enhances recovery, but it also causes intermediate damage that can actually shorten your career. There are nano-tech supplements that are based an intracellular nutrition that will in fact, not only dramatically reduce that inflammation, but also increase ATP production and improve protein synthesis, etc that actually are better than steroids in performance and recovery. To boot, they're actually legal because its just nutrition.

Steroids use is the reason I don't consider Evander Holyfield a top tier heavyweight. Some boxing people said Evander started using steroids back in 1988.

There are more andorhen receptors in the traps and shoulders than anywhere else So a big sign of steroids use is disproportionate size in the traps. Holyfield definitely has the phsyical signs of steroid abuse

I remember the UK commentator either Reg Gutteridge or maybe Jim Rostenhal referring to Golotta spotty back and unhinged behaviour as a side effect of being on roids, when Lennox blasted him down and he attempted to get up struggling against the ropes , a total look of shock on his face

BOXING MONKEY Maybe so, when it comes to Sports competing against the best who already use Steroids, PED’s & other methods to gain an edge, I don’t doubt most use it. Including Lennox, Floyd was caught with the IV & not agreeing to Pacquiao’s testing contract after the fight for $5 Million. It’s hard to believe there’s nobody who does them.
@boxingmonkey24504 жыл бұрын
If they keep samples and test them years and years later like in athletics . . . . boxing Greats like Holyfield and Jones could end up further and further down that ATG List

in a game where they don't test you I highly suspect many used them... I'm thinking in particular of a light heavyweight who became heavyweight champion who actually gained weight and put on more muscle definition later in life after already being in good shape... it just doesn't happen without roids...

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield were both on PEDs. In an interview, Evander mentioned that when, he and Mike trained for the Olympics, Mike could train for much longer than anybody else. This is a forgotten component of PEDs. Increase endurance and increase recovery times. Mike should have kept growing if he was natural as he won the title in his early 20s. Evander was a pumped up cruiserweight. Boxing is a sport were gaining weight and still being very fit is almost impossible. Fitness leads to weight loss but Evander got bigger and fitter which is another sign of PEDs. George Foreman at 40 still had genuine knock out power years after retiring because he was born strong, same as Lennox. These guys don't shrink and take their power intact with them into old age.

@blindingshadow34635 жыл бұрын
@Patricio Jesus before during and after his short reign. Steroids were and are just as prevalent in combat sports as they are in body building. Just for different reasons. As far as I'm concerned, hormone replacement is an epidemic. It seems everyone at the top is taking it. For looks, vitality, strength, anti aging ect. So to say Lennox Lewis is innocent?? Only way that's possible is if he was being juiced without his knowledge. Like the NFL players in the sixty's when lunch came with unknown pills.
@blindingshadow34635 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I base my claims on. Lennox fought in the era of juice, but yeah your right he was a boy scout and beat all the juicers. Bro I implore you to see just how fast and complete Lewis's transition was. He just didn't react as well to the drugs as holy field, but arguing with you over this, to me is like speculating on Arnold swarzanegger, but remember Arnold lied....it was his closest friends who outed him. Ask evander and Tyson if Lennox was juicing. Ask Teddy Atlas.
