so true. when i was 13 i played basketball all the time its all i thought about and did with my friends. i had full intentions of playing in high school. now im not saying im anything special, im a short guy prob average basketball player but at the time i thought i was good. i was playing with my uncle and a friend and my auint said "what do you want to do when your older?" and i said i want to play basketball. she laughed in my face and said "no really though, what do you want to do as a job when your older" i just said i dont know. i was crushed. i just figured adults know better and there smarter and pretty much the dream died that day. i only play pickup games randomly now but i do wonder what if i actually gotten motivating advice where it would have taken me or was i just completely delusional. im always careful how i speak to younger minds.
