Just scroll to 2:04 for the answer (p.s. it works!). I wish people making videos for stuff like this would just get to the point instead of taking forever to show us what we want to see. Show us it works first then talk about all the dumb crap you were talking about like how it doesn’t stick because the older iPhone doesn’t have that magnetic ring after you show us it works

It's good to know it works. However, is there any difference in speed of the charging for 'fully' compliant magsafe devices? In other words would this charger charge a newer phones (example. iPhone 12) faster than it would an iPhone XS?

What about if you have a case with your iPhone? Right now I'm using a Qi charger with my iPhone XS and I have a case on the phone. It charges with the case on. I'm wondering if a magsafe charger would be able to charge a non-MagSafe phone that can be used with a Qi charger, that has a non-Magsafe case on it.

I was wondering if you could put a magnet in your or on your phone case to make MagSafe attach to the wireless charging pad in your phone…. I’m gonna try it out but want to make sure so I don’t waste some money doing so

I’m thinking about that too, like a magnetic sticker to stick on my phone then charge with the MagSafe . I’m going to buy a MagSafe charging stand from Belkin but i dont know if it’s magnetically attached

2 years late, but for others interested: I bought a wireless charging power bank that came with a magnetic ring that you could stick to the back of an iPhone XS. It worked okay at first, although the wireless charger + phone would get really hot. So hot that the sticky side of the magnet would just fall off because adhesive + heat do not work well together. I also tried putting the magnet inside a very thin transparent rubber case to keep it from sliding/falling off but now the magnet's attraction isn't strong enough. I'm now looking into getting a magsafe case for different results.

Thanks for making this my xs max is impossible to charge now. I guess Apple won’t let me go beyond 4 years with it! This could be a game changer!

@@Its7n hi 👋 no I didn’t. I just take the phone out of my current case and put it on the MagSafe Charger when I want to use it. A msg safe compatible case wouldn’t make a huge difference, as long as I l’m charging on a secure surface.

using magsafe charger on xs max as well i use a case and kinda just bought this metal ring that glues to the case so basically magsafe lol, i used the charger it isnt really fast but ive heard that fast charging can degrade phone batterys so i just use it when i charge my phone overnight, plus it looks cool when i use it lmao

Yes, slow charging will not degrade your battery as fast as fast charging, but not wireless charging. It will completely destroy your battery capacity.

Actually it should work with any wireless charging capable device, the Q behind the device is a magnet so that it stays stuck.

Do you charge it with the 20w charger ? What is the avg wat in charge?

You can charge it with the 20w adapter or even other fast charging adapter

The more wat you have the faster it would charge but fast charging all the time is not good for the batttery so I would say use 5w or around that to charge, if you charge before you go to sleep then why not use a 5w it will charge slower then 20w but you will be sleeping so it doesn’t make a difference if you get what I mean

it will stick on and say it’s charging but the charging time is not reliable for fast charging

fast wireless chargers always generate a bit of heat however this charges rather slowly, almost no heat generation with mine, but it's there I got it to future proof myself so I have a magsafe charger ready by the time apple gets rid of the charging port on future iPhones

It's pronounced "Ten S Max", not "X S Max". The X is a roman numeral and it stands for 10. So it's iPhone Ten S Max
