I am from Kerala, actually i can understand only 75% your language, but you have explained very well. Here so many you tubers are making video's regarding this subject.and they saying, electricity bill can be reduced if you connect a capacitor. the fact is,most of them do not have any electrical engineering background.

3:35 "Broke pannathana warranty avoid aagum?" Exactly what I do. Fun fact: Power savers (without the output pin) were actually designed to save power by plugging them in. So power hungry devices don't have space to plug them in. Thus Electricity bill is reduced. 😂😅. But anyways, Great video..

Excellent clarity in explanation. Good video. I have a point you may want to check: if the loads are having in-built converter-inverter combination, or a VVVF Drive, there will be no inductive but pure resistive load as such on the main supply which may be a reason why the device didn't make a difference. Both the washing machine and the drill you used as demo loads are probably having in-built VVVF drives for efficient speed control. Can you please check and confirm? Note: above comment doesn't mean I'm supporting the device; I just want a conceptual confirmation.

DURING THESE LOADS, THE POWER FACTOR IS ALREADY AROUND 0.99. SO NO USE IF THIS DEVICE IS ADDED IN PARALLEL TO THOSE LOADS... THIS DEVICE WORKS WELL ONLY IF THE LOAD HAS LAGGING POWER FACTOR

Very good brother, your explanation is really fantastic and useful. But regarding the saving which you have mentioned upto 20 to 30% when maintaining unity PF rather then lagging PF let say 0.8 PF due to inductive load (Motors) in industries is not reality. I mean there will be a difference in current but not much in active power consumption (KW), only we can reduce the losses (due to square of current) which is not 30%.

Explained in a layman terms but one major mistake is regarding power saving possibility in industries. Yes the penalty can be prevented however practically there will not be any saving on units consumed. Units savings can be in the order of fraction of percentage. Improving power factor is beneficial only to distribution and generation side not on consumer side.

Good video, really appreciate the explanation. As you said this piece of junk doesn't reduce the bill, these are all cheap marketing gimmicks. Probably, a larger capacitor might reduce but tweaking the home set up current is not advisable in my opinion. If we need to reduce the current bill then we have to go solar that is the only option available, if not one simple old technique available, just switch off everything for 2 hours daily which reduces the usage in turn reduce the current bill.

Hi bro, your videos are super, i have one clarification @2:34, you are measuring the washing machine and Bosch drill machine multifunction meter parameters, both machines have motors, so power factor of motor always less than 0.8, but in your reading it's shows like ~1. How it's possible, pls explain.

By adding pfc capacitor we can't save power ,by improving lagging PF efficiency of power generation can be improved but energy consumption will remain same ( as per this formula route 3 x VXIX cosPhi)

Good knowledge and well explained, hearty congratulations. *One small suggestion:* We cannot conclude this way, after adding this device the current consumption reduced and it has some 0.03A difference. if the washing machine runs for 30min on everyday for 60days then our reading may reduced 5to10kwh. Example this is only for one device the same way fan and grinder like other inductive appliances reduce the meter reading upto 50kwh. Obviously our eb bill based on the slab wise, 50kwh bring it down by the device the slab also may get changed hence the 20 to 40% less bill may come. For a home if we are paying more than 2000₹ then this device can help to reduce 20%. If more appliances are running then it may reduce upto 40%. Calculating only for 2min is not worth, make a calculation for the 60days with that 2min current you may get some difference.

Sorry , the channel author didnt mention one thing which made you to assume these things.. In industrial power calculations, the kvar reading will be included. But in domestic energy calculation, the kvar is excluded... The device only can give change in kvar not in kwh.. Domestic energy is calculated purely in kwh... Only industry electricity bill includes kvar and kwh The capacitor and infuctor only improves kvar not kwh.... The capacitor and inductor consumes kwh little..so the device is 100% fraud for domestic ... And is not useful for industrial too...

Only the inability of the power saver to save power is shown.No information is given as to how to acturally reduce current bill in home environment. Good explaining . Very audible tone. Clear presentation are plus points. Should have told about availability of any device to reduce home current bill.

Capacitor will improve the Power Factor near to unity and while doing so it will also consume energy. So, speaking of energy comparison, basically any load without Capacitor will consume lesser energy than that of the same load with Capacitor.
