Thanks Emma for sharing this video with us. Frankly, I was mainly reading scientific textbooks in English while I was studying my master program. The language used in those books was sophisticated and sometimes it was really difficult to understand the context. I believe this experience somehow made an impact on my reading habit. I just didn't want to read books in English anymore. However, after watching your today's video I think that I need to change my mind and look at your recommended ones in the description box but first I want to try an audio book which you've suggested as well. May I also take this opportunity and congratulate you with the International Women's Day! Let you be surrounded with the life full of love and bright moments! You're awesome! 🌹💖😊

Happy Women's Day to you Emma :) Personally ı really love reading. ı can say that reading is what ı live for. The kinds that ı generally prefer to read are history, detective, world's classics. itinerary, biography and fantastic fictions like Harry Potter. Furthermore, one of the things that ı learn foreign languages is to be able to read the books in their original languages. Reading is also really essential to learn new vocabularies, expressions and catch the patterns of living language. For me, the more you read the better you speak. it is the same for your mother tongue. ı usually read British and French newspapers like the Guardian. the İndependent, The Sun, Le Monde, Le Figaro and 20 Minutes for reading practice.

@@mmmEnglish_Emma it depends on the levels. For the beginning my advice would be the stories like Little Prince, Chess Story of Stefan Zweig and any other short versions of world's classics. As for those who is upper intermediate or above, Sherlock Holmes, İtinerary of Marco Polo, the novels of Dan Brown and HARRY POTTER :) would be useful and nice .)

Some accents are easier to understand than others. Not only that but some PEOPLE are easier to understand than others!! Some people are more articulate, while others mumble. Some speak almost completely in slang, while others use standard vocabulary and colloquialisms. There are English speakers in the world who I have difficulty understanding too (because our accents are so different and I am not used to hearing them)!! Don't be too hard on yourself!

I think that reading helps developing vocabulary and expressions and keeping them in mind, yet , speaking English is something else- well, unless you read out loud,or the book you are reading is not written in formal language!- . Having convesrations in English needs more courage, confidence, patience and practice to be able to get that out for sure. Anyway, I usually go for novels or psycology books :). My most recent readings: -I like George Orwell's 1984 ❤, and have listened to the Animal farm. -Mindset by Dr.Carol S. Dweck -Mama Mia for Mia Freedman -The better woman for Ber Carroll -Angels and demons, Deception point for Dan Brown. ......

Hi Emma👐🏻, thanks for your advice. I'd say that reading books is an important part of learning a language but it's difficult to find time for it.😌As you can guess, I prefer watching various videos on KZfaq to learn English. 🙄 The Old Man and The Sea by E.Heminway is a great book. I've read it in my language.

my English level is upper intermediate, I really like to read motivational books in my own native language, but I decided to start reading books in English too. so I went to a bookstore and I looked for motivational books there were a lot of motivational books that I really wanted to read, but I chose the low volume book to not become boring for me, finally, the name of the book is 100 ways to motivate yourself. it is an amazing book for improving English and encourage yourself to read more books in English. I really enjoy reading it, but actually I dont have any kinda dictionary with my self during reading that book. because I guess the meaning of the words from the sentence. I really recommend this books for those people who like reading motivational book and they are looking for English books.
