Nick used Simon Cowell as example. How much of Cowell's money is being made for him by other people? Not saying he doesn't work but as Starmer said, Cowell has no need for public services, and could buy a house in central London on a whim and would barely notice the financial cost
@ARedux11 күн бұрын

@@glennjanot8128 They already pay enough. The top tax bracket pay 30% of all income tax generated inside of the country. You always say tax billionaires and millionaires, they are nice talking points until you realise all of it is in Untaxable assets or shares. Please stop blaming the wealthy and middle classes who often times have built themselves out of poverty and into a position of home ownership and prosperity for the failings of governmental bureaucracy. The web of Welfare is a taxing system, whether it be the bureaucratic structure of the NHS that burns more money then it uses well or the simple loopholes inside of our welfare system that due to its massive size go unnoticed. Implement more efficient and cheaper systems and cut taxes for everybody.
@jdolanout11 күн бұрын
Even if we assume Simon Cowell is domiciled in the UK for tax purposes (though more likely it'll be in the USA), any "work" he does here would not be salaried. Rather a payment would be made under contract to his limited company. There are a number of tax-efficient ways for him to spend and extract that money. Therefore he's earning a fortune and paying less tax. Its clear to anyone (other than those who like to use semantics to try ro swerve reality) that his situation isn't comparable to a day-to-day salaried worker. Nick is being purposely obtuse to play up to his Tory base.
