SC was literally the only game I played back in the day. I would grind to get the armor and weapons because I was so broke and it had the same stats as rune. 😭

I know this is a relatively old video, but god, I really want this minigame. Along with Great Orb Project and Summoning this is probably my most desired piece of content. I think the community's obsession with keeping XP rates the exact same for all eternity in order to protect some vague notion of achievement is such destructive mindset for an MMO that should be innovative and constantly evolving. These kinds of people have effectively put OSRS in some form of stasis where it can't evolve, always making sure to vote no on every interesting an forward-thinking poll to make sure that the 25 % margin is reached.

Absolutely hands down the greatest mini game ever to hit RuneScape!!!!

I really feel like runescape a year before eoc was perfect. I know that a lot people disliked summoning and other stuff, but all together it was a really fun experience. I hope they could bring that back with the HD update.

I mean the XP isn’t really that different then the runerafting with Darkmeyer. Instead of spending 2 Hours just mining for 140k XP you spend 1 Hour stealing creation and 1 Hour mining for the same 140k xp. Just make the items non tradable, it makes the skills less mind numbing by doing the same thing for hours. Like with deyalt essence it’s 1 hour mining and 1 hour runecrafting for the same XP as 2 hour runecrafting, just less of mindless grinding for hours without switching things up.

I remember I was in a SC clan that did speedrun games where nobody fights and you all just work together to drain all the resources. Once everything was drained the game finishes early for faster points!

Haven’t played RS since EOC, but would come back in a heartbeat if they introduced first of guthix, soul wars, and stealing creations

Anyone else remember lvl5 dagger rushing? Those times were so much fun. I think Stealing Creation would work just fine if the summoning aspect was removed, and the point shop scaled up accordingly to match xp rates. Like Daeyalt ore with the latest Darkmeyer update!

We literally have Corp in the game that the quest required Summoning. But we don’t have Summoning still.

This game was really fun, if people really have a problem with the rewards they can replace them but I really didn't see an issue with them back in the day.

I miss getting in osrs with friends and deciding what mini game to play that day. Now its just should i drain my energy training this skill or not?

I remember the times I would sit in minigames for days having a blast. Minigames are good for the community, they have a sort of jolly atmosphere to 'em, which is good for socializing and lightening the mood. My favorite minigame was Conquest, I would sit there for weeks at a time.

Morphic items would have their specific uses, being able to swap between the attack styles/tools freely. 2x xp would obviously be way too high for osrs, but like with the Darkmeyer update with the new Daelyt essence for 50% more RC, you have to take into account the time it’d take to get the items themselves when calculating xp rates. Could potentially be balanced by maybe increasing the points required to buy items, and reducing the bonus xp to something like 1.2x. I’m a big fan of adding these 2008-2010 mini games to osrs, thanks for these vids theo :) do great orb project next!

I loved this minigame. I liked to train all my skills and this minigame gave me an option to rival people way stronger in combat.

Since the game was already in the wilderness, maybe just add the ability to craft a looting bag to take the place of a summoning familiar

Anybody remember the clans that would run organized non-combat games for faster rewards? Those were great for skilling.

Let's be honest, it was packed and people played it all the time for that bonus exp. It was fun as all heck and the best part about it was that you're being rewarded with something super useful. Remove the "Super Useful" part of the mini-game and within this era of instant gratification and efficiency, no one at all will play this or any other mini game if it doesn't have something super useful in it. At least not past the first week or two. I personally enjoyed it not only for the bonus exp, but due to the fact that the gear was all lv 40 defence gear and had the same stats as rune/mystic.. I had a maxed 40def/60att pker back then and it was like free gear that I could use for exp (while I wasn't maxed) and then use the degraded gear after in the wilderness and if I lost it, it didn't matter because I didn't have to buy it and still kept the stats. It was all in all, the most fun mini game on RS other than the original days of CW and finding that one guy with a d-chain and everyone drooling over him.. If you added a pet to the minigame which would be given doing any skill during the mini-game and it looked like the old summoning pet, now THAT would bring some people to it. I think also with the ability to maybe buy un-tradable "buyable" materials like "clay mahogany planks" that aren't tradable but act like them or something.. that would be neat. That way people can have fun playing a mini game to pay for their skill instead of bossing or raiding to sell gear to buy the mats.. May lower the price in mats, but they'll hold a value because if they get "too cheap" people will just obviously buy them rather than play the mini game. Something could be thought up by the community, I know it.

Stealing Creation would be a nice nostalgic minigame to have in OSRS. Gameplay wise: I believe they can remove the summoning aspect entirely, due to the lack of the skill and how it doesn’t effect the game play as much. Reward wise: 2XP effects of the rewards to be removed completely. And make the armor and weapons perm unlocks with mid-level stats (maybe base 50-60 combat stats, a good alternative from the expensive dragon) and tools degradable and giving a small chance of gathering or making two of an item. And increase the amount of points to acquire them.

We can always make the rewards completely different as well, which would be the best option and just make new best picks and stuff and maybe a combat armor that has different variants and you have too use points too upgrade it, same with tools, 20-40-60-80- and 99 variants or something like that and remove any do multiplying effects

Please please please bring this mini game back. It would greatly help with keeping players interested in the game. When I didn’t want to skill or quest and felt hopeless I would always take a break by going and playing some SC. Such a fun mini game

By far my favorite rs minigame of all time. I have wanted this is OSRS since release. I think the way you talked about it being introduced was pretty solid, they definitely need those tweaks to the minigame.

Ah i forgot about this mini game. It was a lot of fun but also incredibly frustrating. I remember people hiding in the ball things then quickly coming out to pickpocket you and running back inside while you couldn't do shit about it. Also remember people stealing your shit while you are busy fighting someone.

Can you do dungeoneering next Theo?! It was such a fun thing to do with friends especially because all levels were allowed to play together. I feel like there's not enough co-op for low level and med level things to do that feel rewarding like raids. I know there could be potential problems by doing that but there are pros and cons. Stealing creation was my favorite game back in the day. I was a skilling pure and loved that I could play and contribute to the team with my skills rather than pvping. Such good memories.

This not being is OSRS originally was my only reason I refused to play the game. I would absolutely love to see it come back even with no reward system.

The only thing is that if they took all the rewards away, or made them unviable for general training methods, the mini game would just become another piece of dead content after the hype died down.

The thing about the morphic tools such as the pickaxe is that you have to use them in place of your normal tool to get the bonus xp. So that 70k p/h mining method, for example, won't be doubled to 140k p/h because the morphic pickaxe has a much slower mining rate. 100k p/h would be a more reasonable assumption. Also, the minigame's rewards have to be worthwhile, otherwise it'll just become dead content with how efficiency-focused the playerbase is these days.

Stealing creation was hands-down my most played minigame pre-eoc. I think the rewards would need to be changed completely. Xp boosts cut against the spirit of the game, even if nerfed. Things that come to mind for me include a bracelet of clay upgrade that allows you to charge it (similar to ring of suffering), an offhand saw to saw logs as you cut them which disintegrates after X logs, a necklace that turns X amount of farmed herbs into noted unf potions (no cleaning xp), a hunting net which turns X amount of implings into notes, a versatile fishing tool that converts X fish into notes, etc. I am struggling to think of more 'X before disintegrating' tools, but that's generally my direction since it will keep the minigame very active and is a viable reward which doesnt affect any metas. We don't need to trek down the EZScape path where skills all become an hour of simple afking back and forth from your base to achieve the same meta experience rates with half the dedication to the actual skill. We need to keep that mindset far away.

I'm a little late to this video but I would love for Stealing Creation to come to OSRS. Stealing Creation was by far my favorite mini game in RS. To be honest I couldn't even remember that these reward items gave double xp. I would be totally fine with them not giving bonus xp. Just the fact that the reward items are morphic on itself is good enough. I think making them degradeable is still important for that reason. Making them more expensive in terms of reward points is still okay with me. All in all I think this would make a great and fun addition to OSRS. Let's hope it happens some day.🤞

Personally, I think Adamant & Runite dragons were almost inevitable, as the rational conclusion of the metal dragon concept. It was just a case of when & how would the family be completed, not if. The 2007 backup had a lot of half-finished threads, and most of them had a (semi-)planned continuation/conclusion. They didn't leave much room to maneuver, at least for the first few quests picking up where 2007 left off.

RS3 has a thaler shop where you can get a universal reward points to spend on any minigame reward, which they could add to OSRS so you can do like SC for void or say The Stuff from that one dead mini game.

Same. One of the few minigames I played. It made construction somewhat not boring and also the tears of guthix. Came back to rs and could remember what it was called and then was disappointed the it was after osrs.

I hope they add the Fist of Guthix game mode in the future. The joy that game mode provided was awesome. Rewards were pretty cool too
