Thanks for this review, I was literally days away from picking up a ODR1 to use as a bass overdrive, then I see a update for my stomp and I am pumped to hear it’s extremely close

There’s no way anyone could honestly tell the difference of both were dialed in to sound the same. Especially if you’re playing with a band…

The "Prize Drive' lead me to the 30th anniversary ODR-1 which has become my go to mainstay bass drive. It sounds incredible

This review is kinda making the case for HX One. For analog guys, or guys playing mostly through analog boards into real amps, HX One might actually be a worthy pedal. The drive "pedals" in Helix are without a doubt, incredible.

Goes to show why to me, Line 6 Helix/HX system is still very viable today as it was when it first came out. I am just surprised as how they keep coming out with so much still today.

Probably the best drive model to date in the latest update. It paired really well with the AC30 model. It does take a bit more DSP, but worth it. Love it!

The modelling stuff is getting so close now, I gig regularly and have been using a matchless chieftain however I have switched to a katana and it sound very close if not better at lower volumes. I’ll always love the real thing but man it’s so close now! Great vid

Great comparison in between both drives and for my ears they sounded the same. I just added in one of my rocking tunes in my Helix LT

Line 6 continues to add value to the Helix. I’ve been waiting for the ODR-1 for a long time. I’m very excited about this update. Now if they could add the Mostortion it would be perfect. Thanks Line 6. 🤘

I just removed my Belle from my pedalboard. I'm so sad because I love this pedal! But the line 6 just sounds so good! It even reacts to my volume pot the same way the original pedal does!

Brian you know what else Line 6 helix gave us, the Bassman dripedge and it's JBL d130 15 INCH SPEAKERS Cabinet, somehow Pair it up with the 64 Pro Fender amp. and see how it sounds.

its not a tubescreamer, the tubescreamer is a soft clipping and the nobels is a hard clipping, it also uses a jfet which makes it more amp like . Also odr came out in the 90's not 80's

@@bruceoleary3764 Agreed, also the ODR1 should be in front of helix not in the loop, analogue drives dont sound right in the loop

The ODR-1 has soft clipping with diodes in the feedback loop. Followed by diodes to ground, that don't have much work to do.

Thanks for yet another great video! BTW, seems like modern tones call a clipped signal "clean". Modeling is great now with soft clip to overdrive but still doesn't seem to get sparkling clean tones with the same quality of tube amps (I'm a diehard Line 6 user since the original POD bean)

Line 6 definitely cuts out some very low end but the gain structure sounds identical.

Wait doesn't this pedal in current iteration have a big warning on the box that says ONLY USE 9v!! Or am I remembering another pedal? Wouldn't want someone to try 18 and fry it...

The Nobels circuit doesn't sound or look anything like a TS, so I'm not sure where you got that... It's an overdrive, so yeah it has a bit of a mid push but nothing like a TS and the original (without bass cut) was the first "transparent" drive of it's kind, again NOTHING like a Tube Screamer.

Pedal straight into a real amp vs Line6 straight into a real amp. That's the only way to compare just the overdrives. In your comparison, the sound of the analog pedals goes through TWO A/D-D/A. conversions

TSish???? Mid Pushed Sound? 80`s? LOL - it seems you have no idea about the Nobels ODR-1. Introduced 1993 and as an opposite of a Tube Screamer - without a MID hump.....sorry to say.....
