Got new puppies, blamed myself and so I punished myself with fixing their mess. Thank you, surprisingly I knew I had everything to fix it and this video was a huge help.

WHY JUST WHY I BOUGHT NEW HEADPHONES AND MY CAT CHEWED THEM UP THEN I REFUNDED THEM AND BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE AND THIS TIME I HID MY HEADPHONES IN MY BOX EVERY NIGHT THEN I FORGOT YESTERDAY THEN NEXT DAY SHE ATE IT WHYY ITS 30 DOLLARS MAN WHYYY

The headset I have is just bare wires touching each other within the rubber cover. Each of them different color with fabric holding them together on the inside.

You have to burn off the color Coating on the wire ends you want to connect.

Do you think it's necessary to use a soldering iron for a fix like this?

Very. you have to insure a secure conductive connection because a little strand of copper wire that isnt touching with the other can lead to the whole thing to not function. Soldering it ensures that they are all connected. Also watch my vids, if you still dont trust me i have experience with this.
