Thank you for saying that. I really appreciate it. Last Saturday she jumped off the couch and it paralyzed her backend We’ve been practicing walking and trying to keep her muscles stretched. Since then she can move her tail a little bit and she can Twitch her legs some. She can’t control number one . But number two, she’s able to work her bottom Do you have any suggestions on what I can do or tips or any advice whatsoever. I could tell This morning that the main knot on her lower back by her tail has went down significantly. She seems extra tired today but last night she slept better than I’ve ever seen her sleep for about 12 hours. I haven’t left her side and we will not give up. I’m very grateful for your reply, I was just putting it out there to the universe and you answered the call out of care and love. Thank You! Chris and Myley Thomas

I would just keep gently massaging the tight spots, and the whole area in general. Sounds like she may just need some healing time. Massage will bring more bloodflow. But only do it at the level that feels good to her. If she yelps you are going to hard. If you can put an ice pack on the area too that would be good, but most dogs don't like getting iced. Hope this helps, Gary

Again thank you so very much. I Just had one more question if you don’t mind. Can I lay her on her back on something soft during the massages? It’s been one week and I didn’t know if it would hurt her or cause any harm
@garycrowley1
@garycrowley1 3 жыл бұрын
I don't really know because I'm not there to assess in person, but if it doesn't hurt her to be in that position I think it would be fine. I'm not sure why you would want to lie her on her back? Wouldn't you want her on her belly or on her side to be able to work on her back? Best, Gary C.

Thank you! I will try this with my 9 yr old GSD. He is very wobbly in his rear legs and has started to drag them. It's not degenerative myelopathy, but probably some type of spinal injury that has just gotten worse. I really hope this will help him regain some stability and mobility as well as taking any pains away. I am also doing some mobilizing exercises with him.

I saw something like this before it was called T-cell but I never can see exactly what you're doing or what they were doing and I was wondering if you could do another video and do a slower or maybe a diagram to show how much pressure or where exactly to push pulling release. My dog's a Staffordshire Terrier and from the mid part 2 the lower part of his back is starting to Arch for the last year and it seems to be getting more painful he sometimes when he gets up his back legs don't want to function as well I think it's his right leg so I really want to do something for him he's only 9 years old I love him so much. I think jumping off of my bed may have caused the problem and plus I live in a house with steps up and down the steps are not helping. I'm so broken-hearted for my dog I love him so much thank you for your video

My dog is suffering from spinal damage and he doesn't want to get up or even eat. I took him to the vet to see what was wrong and they said surgery might be an option but the charge is too expensive and I want to heal him myself. He is also not able to walk both of his back legs are too weak for him to stand up straight. I would definitely try this out and if you have any other recommendations on what to do I would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know ! :) thank you !

Would you recommend this as preventative measures or can I do this for my dog who is currently in pain. I took him to the vet and they told me he had lower back issues (hes mixed with weiner). He's on steroids and pain meds, but I can tell he's still not feeling good. I was hoping of being able to soothe his back a bit. Just wondering what your opinion would be.

My dog started dragging her hind legs & standing on her paws.1st vet said she had a pinched nerve & prescribed her 300mg gabapintin. She started walking, once her meds finished, she went back down. Took her to another vet for 2nd opinion.Vet said she was paralyzed.Prescribed her steroids and another medication. She started walking again. For some reason she keeps going back down. Would you have any recommendations that can help my dog feel comfortable & healed or any advice on what to do to help her so her hind legs can stop giving out on her. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA... My condolences on Dixie & Daisy.

My silkie terrier was diagnosed with 2 areas of spondylosis upon x-ray exam. She has acute attacks in her neck, yelps and cries, shakes, pants, turns clockwise and holds up her front right paw. I think she believes I'm doing it to her. Any thoughts? 😞

Very sorry to hear it. Spondylosis is tough since it's bones and the discs that are deteriorating, so if my techniques help then I'd say keep doing them. I would wonder about your silkie having a stroke. The walking in circles makes me wonder about a stroke, so I would wonder what the vet would say about that. Sorry I don't have more to offer. Best, Gary C.

Hello! Not sure you’re still active on the channel but a reply would really help. My dog has been walking hunched over and very slowly and has been really stiff in the neck. We took her to the vet and he told us that her spine was fusing together, but didn’t give an exact name for it. Mostly her neck is in pain, and we give her massages and she yelps and cries. She’s also very overweight, and we going to put her on a diet soon. The vet also told us to give her minimal exercise but I fear it’s not enough. Are there any tips to help her back and neck please?
@garycrowley1
@garycrowley1 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kenicia, I'd gently rub her neck the way I show you at a level where she doesn't yelp. I do know some dogs yelp before you even touch them, so you could start by just gently resting your hand there, then a light petting, then ever so gentle massage, then maybe a bit deeper if your dog will let you. I do hope that helps. All the best, Gary C.

what if the dog is in so much pain that he gets aggressive when you touch him there
@garycrowley1
@garycrowley1 3 жыл бұрын
It may mean that they have a more serious injury that requires a vet. BUT, if your dog is just protective you might start touching them in a way they like and very slowly start working on them (gently) until they know you are helping them. I know it's tricky. I hope it works out for you and your dog. Best, Gary C.

@garycrowley1
@garycrowley1 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa, tough to tell you via the internet. Just do your best to observe them and see where they seem to lack mobility then try to free the tight tissue in that area. Or just work their entire spine from neck to tail and see where they seem to be tight. Your dog will probably really enjoy it if you just work the whole spine and then go from what you discover. Best, Gary C.

my poor chiweenie has these spinal "attacks" where his paws curl in and he's super tense and shaking. The vet says he needs surgery, but we don't have the money for that. Will this be something we could do during his attacks? or should we just do it as a daily preventative? Thanks for this great video!

I would do it as prevention and when he has an attack. I don't know in your case if it will help, but if there is tight tissue along his spine and you release it, it should only help. I do wish you the best, Gary C.
