Greetings Gary I initially found your videos about 9 yrs ago. At that time I had experienced lower back pain. I located your videos for sacroiliac joint pain relief. Your methods worked instantly and I also learned that the preventative measure was for me to sleep on my back or side, but never my stomach as this was the cause of my back problems. Fast forward to today I looked on the web for answers and tried a few. In the back of my mind, I knew I needed to find your videos again. I’m currently three videos in and am so glad I found you on here. I seem to have a case of plantar fasciitis and it’s a killer. I’m hopeful I can get some immediate relief. Hi Gary, great video. Thanks for posting. My pain is concentrated on my fretting hand/back of wrist tendons. When I pull my hand down towards the palm, the tendons on the back or top of my wrist hurt a great deal. I’ve had full blown tendinitis before. Im seeing you focus on the under side of the arm but I’m assuming I should move the thumb pressure to the top of the arm for this symptom? I am doing both sides at the moment as I think the gym has me tight everywhere. I just mention it because the pain is concentrated on the tendons themselves and I’m worried about damage and how long to treat like this before returning to my instrument. Thanks again!!

I'm so glad I looked you up about 8 years ago at this point. I constantly come back to your videos if I experience something and try to refer you to friends and family who complain about joint pain. They act like it's witchcraft when I tell them they can fix these things themselves like I have through your instruction, but I try to put them on. You're a godsend and have helped improve the quality of my life.

Hey Gary, great video, thank you. I am full time job guitar player, I have inflammation on DIP joint for a few months. With it, I had pain in my forearms. Went to PT , they tried everything, friction massages, ultrasound, magnet and laser therapy, but with no great success. They said that is from microtrauma from repetitive motions. Found your video about Guitar Tendonitis, and my arms are back to 80-90 percent within one week of your videos. Thanks enormous!! I will continue to do this every day. But my finger still hurts, still is sometimes swollen. Tried your advices, still no greater success. Swelling and pain is on DIP joint of my index finger. Is it ok to do this if my finger is swollen a bit?

Yes, you can work on your finger when it's swollen. I would also recommend 10-12 minute sessions of icing your finger, many times a day. I'd just fill a glass with ice water and stick the finger in it. You'll want to move the finger a bit every minute or so because a little thermal layer on the skin will form that will make it less cold for your finger. Don't do more than 15 minutes at a time, but I'd do it at least 5 times a day if you can. Also, when your finger is warm, feel free to move the joint back and forth with your other hand to the range that doesn't hurt and see if that range can increase over time. Plus, keep releasing tight tissue in your finger, hand and forearm. You can go it! Best, Gary C.

I only felt it slightly, now it hurts way more. What else could it be. I do have a dislocation on my middle finger knuckle but it’s healed that way after quite some time, will this cause serious time off work problems?

Hmmm, it's extremely rare for things to feel worse after this work. I do wonder if the dislocation caused your finger to not heal properly and now the tissue is extremely tight. It might be worth having a Dr. check it out. If they say "nothing is wrong," which means "nothing is ripped or broken," then you are left to free the soft-tissue to get it back to functioning properly. If my method doesn't seem to work for you then keep trying things until you find something that does. Sometimes having someone else work on it may be best if is very, very tight. My GSD has a rotator cuff injury (front right paw) and holds her leg up when walking (not using it). She has lost muscle mass in that leg from non use. She is 9 years old. Is this fixable?

If nothing is ripped or broken I think you probably can help. Just start gently and release the tissue you find. Be gentle, since there is probably some very tight tissue, but definitely give it a try. If it helps then keep finding more tissue to release. All the best, Gary C.

Does the mechanics of this stretch involve an internal or external rotation of the arm, or does it depend solely on the abduction of the arm?

It depends a lot upon the individual person's positional relationship between their ribcage, scapula, and humerus, so you've got to play a little bit with your positioning. Because your humerus is pretty locked in position from the weight of your body against the wall you would generally want to rotate your chest to change the positional relationship, and generally their does seem to be a bit of external rotation to "get" that subscapularis. But it's a bit of a tricky one! So, just play with it until you get it. Best, Gary C.

I have always felt a little pain in my fretting hand after playing guitar. But since I usually play for several hours, I thought that this was only natural. When I bought a 000 western guitar the problems got a lot worse. Resting my arm did not solve anything, so I feared my guitar days were over.
