The plaintiff says she sold her golden retriever to the defendant, who still owes her half of the cost. She says she really doesn’t even want the money - she just wants her dog. She’s suing for what she’s owed or the return of the dog. The defendant says the plaintiff threatened him and he’s not giving the dog back.

The face he made @11:11 when she described how she “accidentally” drove to an entirely different state and stalked his house, but that it wasn’t “unintentional” and non-threatening. I literally made the exact same face with him when she started talking. That’s the universal “chile, please!” face. 😂 The defendant seems like a good guy, especially turning down $5,000. It’s clear that it was not about the money. He didn’t want his children to be hurt and have to suffer. Sadly, she seems like a sweet lady, and obviously misses the dog, but in her haste, she didn’t make a wise decision, & she has to live with that. All this time spent harassing this man could’ve been spent finding another sweet little puppy or older dog, as she originally wanted, who would definitely have filled that spot in her heart. She has to realize the world doesn’t revolve around her and that his family shouldn’t have to suffer just so she isn’t sad anymore based on her own decisions.

Idk why I found this case extremely funny! 🤣As a animal lover myself... I totally get it. I have 3 cats, and at one time we had a guinea pig and a dog along with one of my cats I have now. I would never give up my cats. But a sale is a sale. You can't go back and ask a complete stranger for your puppy back after it's all said and done. Secondly, if I were defendant I might have taken the 5000.00 and found my family a new pet. It's not like they had him for months and gotten super attached, it takes time to get to know your animals .

First off the dog seems to be with a really good family and I’m happy they are enjoying him ,as far as the plaintiff, it’s nothing she can do about it just because you regretted selling the dog doesn’t mean you get to pop up and say oh I want it back , just accept the additional 500 to complete the sale that she declined at first and either get another dog or just move on as hard as it may be for her that’s the only options she has. And mam know she was being nosey and pulled up to the defendants house which was uncalled for she probably did distribute typical karen behavior so yea I could see why he stalled on giving her the extra 500 he owed for the dog, either way fair case.

Why doesn’t JM think it would be in the “…best interest of the dog” to stay with the defendant? The mere fact that they rejected $5,000 for this puppy shows that they truly love him, and will very likely take great care of him.
@loupgarou95

She meant that it would be against the best interest of the dog to give it back to the plaintiff, but that didn't factor into her decision. Even if it had been better for the dog to go to the plaintiff she still would have ruled the same way. There was another case where she ruled for a dog to go back to an owner that had a pitbull in the house that had attacked his second dog. Even though it was better for the other person to have the dog and keep it safe, the law was the law and it has to go back to the rightful owner.

I would never give up my animals. They are what give me a reason to get out of bed each day. I know her son and daughter-in-law thought that they were giving her good advice to get rid of the dog. They thought it was too much for her. But having something to care for gives your life purpose. I hope she gets another dog. I would suggest a small dog and an adult dog. I used to have German shepherds. Now I have chihuahuas.

Don't everyone yell at me but... Why do older people get puppies and kittens? Have they not noticed the ages in the obits? If you are 70 a dog can easily live for 15 years. Maybe you will and maybe you won't. But so many puppies are doomed to lose their homes because nature takes its very predictable course. There are a scazillion older animals looking for homes. Choose one of those and they will love you forever.

Tô be fair she' sold the dog, maybe she should consider adopting a new dog. No reason why a 70 year old can't have a dog, however maybe a golden was not the best choice due to the breed's high energy level, and probably more suitable for a young family environment. All in all as sad as it was for the lady, this seems to be the best outcome, so nice to see how loved Gio is. So many dogs are not that lucky.
