Okami is a great example where you play as Amaterasu, the reincarnation of the god of the sun but as a wolf! My favorite dog in video games is Milla from Freedom Planet. She's an anthropomorphic basset hound who uses her ears to fly and can summon psycho cubes and shields to attack enemies. One dog not mentioned here that I liked quite a bit is Hayataro from SMTV/V Vegeance. SMT is no stranger to dog demons, as we already have Orthrus, Cerberus and Fenrir, but Hayataro not only has a distinct design, but is the primary demon of one of the main characters of SMTV, Yuzuru Atsuta. And his loyal and steadfast personality is a great fit for Yuzuru’s ambition to protect people, to the point where he tries to talk him out of fighting the protagonist when manipulated by one of the villains in the Vegeance route.

It is Aigis, she is a cute robot anime girl so the merchandise is selling like hotcakes in Japan. and more importantly she is the canon romance in the movie and manga and big hints in the game itself, she was on the box art of the dancing game she was kind of the 2nd protagonist in main game and took over the protagonist role in episode aigis/the answer and she was a big focus in 4 arena ultimax. With so many things going on why not make her the mascot
