Aerobic Training Adaptations:
❤️ Your heart gets bigger. Specifically, we can expect up to around 80ml of increased heart chamber volume to help you pump more blood to your muscles.
You also get more efficient at delivering oxygen to your muscles.
📈 At rest an untrained individual needs to pump around 5.7L of blood per minute. A well trained endurance athlete may need to pump only around 4.2- 4.4L per minute.
We also see an increase in maximal blood flow per minute (cardiac output) from around 20 L/ min for untrained individuals to around 35L/ minute for well trained endurance athletes.
