This is exactly how I felt. I went from making $10 an hour at 21 to making 6 figures at 22/23 throughout last year and I’ve paid more taxes than I used to make… $20k+ in taxes man wtf

@@RealNaisuCinema don't get taxed much if you don't make much. More ya make more you get taxed in the bracket. You still got taxed the same though from $1-$22,000 as when you made $10/hr. It's taxed incrementally. So even if from $70,000-$100,000 is 40% they're not taking 40% the whole way through on you (aka can't lose money to taxes with a pay bump). The money figures are made up, point is that it sucks but you're making good money and that's good

@@Itstime1231 actually I’m taxed more now because I make more. I used to lose 1/5th of my paychecks and now I lose 1/3rd. That’s hardly scaled to be equal. Scaling it to be the same would be losing 25% no matter how much you make. For every two paychecks I make the government gets the third one. Thinking of it that way is wild. And people complain saying “tax the rich” when in reality they’re already doing that lmao

Gotta do them estimated tax payments fam. Better to pay small amounts throughout the year than the massive sum the government hits you with all at once at the end of the year.

I tend to forget how bad tax time is for smaller businesses owners. I have the "Luxury" of not having to worry about that too much but I'm also a broke ass so I guess I have to get a break somewhere lol

Try being a contract laborer. You be making like 15k a year then owe a contract labor fee of 3k plus taxes on that 15k. Thats why so much contract labor is done under the table.

@Jordan Alonso I know, it's a thing I wish everyone could experience. But not something realistic. It just made me understand how taxes work better than anything before. I understand write-offs and why business owners end up not paying anything in taxes. They did pay taxes already. It just wasn't at the end of the year like employees. Shots crazy.

@william woolf they pay their taxes. The same taxes that get taken out of your paychecks get owed at the end of the year. I don't even make a lot, and before my deductions, it's about $10,000. That only my personal doesn't count my quarterly business taxes for sales tax in my state. I imagine a high six-figure profit that tax is a lot more. The flat rate is 13. Something percent. Changes per your profit, state, and business type. Also, that goes for each business you operate in and how you profit.

@@CulturedDegenerate Politicians make laws to make certain people cut taxes here in there based on an income bracket, thats usually where it starts. Then there’s certain tax incentive for some people like religious clergy or non profit organizations and other things. Then you have kid exemptions blah blah blah it all gets complicated.

Yeah a lot of people don’t take advantage of write-offs. I had enough legitimate write-offs to reduce my taxes on my side businesses to nearly nothing. I won’t always be able to deduct so much but since I was just getting started I had a lot of purchases for setting things up. I just pray I don’t get audited lol

Don’t be this is very over dramatized. I pay like 13-20% taxes for my LLC after deductions and I get to avoid most sales taxes as a business on business related purchases.

the best thing you can do is set aside literally half of every dollar that comes in. That will be overkill once you calculate revenue vs profit, but it will keep you safe if there's disputes. That's year 1. every year after that you'll get better at it. Just remember, you make 10K this month, no you didn't. You made 5K.
