If the kinsect could trigger the stalagmites I would’ve counted it but regardless the fact that this is possible without them is incredible and I can’t wait to see the future of the little guy’s adventures.

I attempted to do something similar with Alatreon. After spending three days and most of my sanity I managed to get it to work with around five minutes left.

You can climb all over Zorah in the final phase. Either jump on his arm and hit his chest or climb on his head when he headbutts the barricade and break the fourth magmacore on his head-from other of those spots you can get onto his back and get to the other spot or get to the other magmacores, all of which can be reached except the first one which shouldn’t reactivate-you can see which ones are active on the minimap. During the fight if you take a while you’ll get messages that the Magmacores have recovered. The magmacores need to be destroyed to limit Zorah Magdaros’s damage-he won’t use his ultimate attack when all are destroyed. If you’re on his arms you can get close enough to his chest that you should be able to use the blast powder, though I don’t know if that requires breaking the challenge. Also Nergi doesn’t leave because it gets bored it leaves because Zorah pelts it with giant magma balls. It’s actually better at hitting Nergigante if it isn’t moving around chasing the player, lol. By the way if you never climb on Zorah’s back, in the starting area with the hitching post and camp, there’s ballistae and cannons, and you can watch Zorah move by. In this way I actually beat Zorah with my friend (and low ranks gear, heavy artillery and pro transporter while my friend destroyed the magmacores and dropped the rocks) before phase 2 even started! That area makes me think the fight was originally supposed to be more like Lao, but for some reason the NPCs pester you about climbing on forever. It’s weird, it’s much funner to do something different and watch Zorah from a distance. You can actually see in my “Zorah Magdaros Observation” video what you can see from that vantage, like seeing Zorah erupting. Cool stuff. That being said it drives me crazy how people don’t know anything about Zorah’s mechanics. Even when they challenge themselves like this aaaaa It’s entirely possible to do this without using the binders. Hard, but possible. Also, you could have increased your damage with powercharm. Yes, it works.

Idk if you knew this but when zora headbutts the barricade, you can climb on to his head and hit the 4th magmacore on the tip of his face

There's 2 things you could have done for a better strat. 1. Break all 4 cores. For what I saw, you never aimed at the one on his nose. 2. You could have gone on him by climbing on his head. That spot would have been even better then the ship. No way to get damaged by eather him or the barnos and would have done more damaged by hitting his head, instead of the torso. Plus, destroying all 4 magma cores drain his energy, which would have helped you a lot. ^-^

Iirc, the best damage Kinsect output involves hitting the right elemental weakness while playing an Elemental Boost type of Glaive. Idk where you are at this point in your journey but you should definetly check the Aqua or Ice Rod trees for the next big fights like this ! This challenge is insane tho, great job !

Don't know if this would've helped but you can get back on zorah's back in 2nd phase when he headbutts the barrier by jumping on his head

This reminds me of when I used to join low rank lobbies in 4 ultimate with my g rank set, I used only the kinsect for most of the hunts so the game was still fun for the rest of the hunters and only really attacked if they seemed to struggle with the monster or they were already carted 👍

dont know if you knew or found out but you can remount zorah when he headbutts the barricade you can climb up his head and reach his shell (or hammer his head) and when he slaps the barricade you can jump down and run up his arm to his shell when on his back you can reach the magma cores again (i actually think they can respawn as well) and if you want to get risky you can stand on his arms and hammer his chest

Been playing insect glaive and trying to maximize the power of this little bug ever since 4U. Fun fact: World's iteration of the kinsect very well may be the weakest one in terms of damage, which makes this that much more impressive. 4U's kinsect had the potential to do more elemental damage than literally anything else in the game, and one of them could do endless charged attacks which were far stronger than normal ones. GU had customization that let you max out the attack of any kinsect, add element damage on top of that for free, use a kinsect type that received a phial-like explosion with each hit, and use a hunter art that turned charge attacks into a multi-hit combo. And then finally there's Rise, with takes a little bit from every past version of the kinsect and (mostly) improves upon it even further from there

kinsects are unique in that they choose to act and attack on their own accord. not just because a hunter says. it takes a lot for a hunter to gain enough trust of a kinsect to fight with you

I just want to say that my dragon element kinsect has three Kushala Daora kills and a Shara Ishvalda kill under its belt. I definitely helped with the glaive, but the fact that a tiny bug has killed this many elder dragons with seconds to go in the fight… just goes to show that not even an elder dragon can survive malaria.

As an IG main, this brings a smile to my face.

There's a glaive Speedrunner who did a KOsect run on fatalis. Gorgeous work it was. They also did a KOsect party Speed Run (dubbed the Cicada run) on Ruiner Nergigante. They might've also done an Alatreon run too, I think, but I'd have to check.

You can also fire the kinsect at empty air and recover stamina every time you do, recovers stamina really quick

Can't wait to see you do this against fatalis!

I've also recently restarted playing MHW, removing all combat UI so far entered HR. On the matter of the Binders: I am fairly certain that NPC will use Ammunition as long as the ammunition box is not empty. If you were to fill up a cannon fully (5 shots) you could fire it twice with the normal Ammunition boxes. However the box does not have 10 shots. It only has 10 shots for you. If you take out 9 Shots, your cat can still keep on going as the box is not 'empty'. I imagine it's the same for the Binders. OR: NPCs have their separate box Ammunition counter but it's set to empty once the player empties it. I would assume that that's a visual reason since it would be odd if the NPC could get Cannonballs from an empty box. I do however think that Ammunition boxes are shared between players (this is a vague memory from the Kulve Taroth Sieges).

Before I say what I'm gonna say: I love Monster Hunter. Now, with that out of the way: I can't believe someone likes this game enough to do a challenge like this. I only did this fight when I was forced to because I always hated MH sieges lol, Rampage Mode on Rise is the best attempt they've made for that kind of fight, and I only have Zorah Magdaros gear through a very luky few attempts with good drops and through palico safari

Jhen Mohran is still my favourite siege fight, as it felt like the fight wouldn't exist without the monster, which is an absolute win when it comes to game design, as it feels like Zorah could be replaced with Lao with a mod, and it would be almost the same fight.

You can abuse the fact that your kinsect regains a bit of stamina when you recall it before it runs out of stamina to regain full stamina pretty quickly

You're missing the Fourth Magma Core that's on his nose. If you destroy that he won't be able to destroy the barrier because he won't be able to do his ultimate. You can even see the Fourth Magma Core on your minimap. That's how I found it. GGs either way

If you use a strenght and spirit buff insect glaive you can also get more damage with the sramina boost, i've managed to do upwards of 30 damage with this on zora. Blunt and water dmg tipes

I just noticed in this video that Zorah has classic ED wingarms holding up its shell. Weird. There was another KZfaqr, can’t remember his name, who did World and Iceborne with only Kinsect damage, but he used all the artillery and stuff for ZM, and stopped at Shara Ishvalda because that’s when IB’s end credits plays so it’s ‘officially’ the end. No Alatreon, Fatalis, Furious Rajang, Raging Brachy, etc.

Interesting and very amazing, can't imagine how frustrating this must have been to do, though I am curious about one thing. Why didn't you go back onto Zora during the second phase? You can get back on him and could have gone for the remaining Magma Cores.

Since 2021 i used the kinsect build for quite a while 😂 Used it to defeat almost all monsters, eapecially the elder ones.

My friend has no excuse saying "tHe GaMe Is ToO hArD" now as I show them this video and leave them speechless. I also showed them the one with "can you beat Monster Hunter Iceborn with only *SLINGER AMMO?"* so it really makes you think on if they're being lazy or not.

Recalling the kinsect before it runs out of stamina also recovers a small amount of stamina and there's no cooldown for this.

I feel bad for Zorah. He's trying to find his final resting place and we're just blasting the shit out of him. I have to remind myself that like spurring a horse, anything less than the hunting equipment used wouldn't have even bothered him enough to get him to move.

I've fought multiple 38k master rank monsters in the guilded lands sowhould be cool to see you do this to one of them.

I think using powders would have been fine though, as it is your kinsect that makes it.
