The U.S. Department of Justice is pressuring Boeing to plead guilty to criminal fraud related to two deadly 737 Max crashes. The proposed plea deal includes Boeing admitting to a felony, paying fines and restitution, and being under federal monitoring for three years. Families of the victims, frustrated by previous lenient settlements, demand harsher penalties and accountability for Boeing's top executives. They argue that the plea deal is too lenient, merely a "slap on the wrist," and fails to hold the company fully accountable for the loss of 346 lives. Boeing must decide by the end of the week whether to accept the deal or face trial, where the evidence against them is substantial. This situation highlights ongoing issues with corporate accountability and the influence of large companies in avoiding significant legal consequences.

Boeing needs to split up into various Boeing corporations, that way one bad apple doesn't spoil the entire group.

What about Lockeed-Martin ever getting back into the Airliner Business? Their L1011 was amazing! Actually it was just a bit too advanced for it's time! They should consider a new 2 engine widebody and call it the L1011-2!!! Then design a smaller plane similar to the DC9!

The African one could have been avoided if the airport pilot manager had not overruled a pilot that had just landed a 737 that had experienced the inflight control problem.

Corporations have many of the same rights and responsibilities as individual persons, including criminal liability. If convicted, they will usually be due to pay restitution and stiff punitive fees (since you can't really incarcerate a corporation). Sometimes, the court might install agents in the company to oversee certain parts of their operation for some probationary period. Often, individuals related to the criminal activity will also be charged individually. Also, the corporation could be banned from governmental contracts for some period of time although in Boeing's case, I doubt that would happen because there aren't many other companies that do what they do, especially on the commercial airliner side where the problems were. And their functions/activities for military contracting are almost a separate company.

This corporate greed and incompetence will never stop if the companies only pay fines! If the corporations are found criminally liable and the corporate officers have to go to jail, this sh*t will stop happening!!

The CEO and the person or persons who authorized the short cuts should be in jail. At its own expense, Boeing needs to fix every single thing wrong with the Max.

It’s a typical thing. The coverup is worse than the crime. If boeing had worried more about the safety of the product instead of the value of the stock all of this would have been avoided.
