At the young age of 12, Arvol was given the responsibility of becoming the 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe - making him chief and spiritual leader of all three branches of the Sioux Tribe.
-
Over the past four and half decades, Chief Looking Horse has dedicated himself to the promotion of world peace and religious freedom. As the founder of World Peace & Prayer Day, he’s met with religious and spiritual leaders all over the world, including the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, to unite in a shared belief of peace.
His speaking engagements range from opening prayers before numerous sessions of the United Nations to speaking on world peace at President Clinton’s inauguration in 1996.
The Do Lectures USA is honoured that Chief Looking Horse will be joining us this September and look forward to hearing his message of peace and religious freedom.

Thank you, Chief Looking Horse, for speaking your wise words to us. I love your teaching, that everything has a spirit. I felt that when I was a small child, but then I grew up and I almost forgot. Now I grow old and I re- member.

1/22/2020 thank you. I have never realized how my great grandmother was native American. It wasn't something my Father or Grandfather talked about. But recently my Aunt has told me the history. I didn't know why my dad's skin was so dark. I didn't know why he wild collect turquoise but I remember him showing it off. My great grandmother was said to be full blooded native American, to have married a white man by the name of Blake and her native people rejected her when they had my Grandfather the baby was given up for adoption. Because he was half blooded. I never realized until a couple weeks ago. But looking back I can remember how many was very racist growing up so it could have had an impact on many decisions through out many of our lives. It wasn't until I was older I noticed 3 hawks flying across the sky at my husband's uncles graveside. My husband has Native American in his blood. So my last child we wanted to name him 3 hawks. But gave him the Thomas Hawkeye. That can be called tomahawk. Many years later my Father passed away. And my children came to me at the graveside yelling to look up. And three hawks flying together above my Father's graveside services that time. So now after many years I am trying to get back to roots. I have no idea about many things. But for many years I have lived and raised my children 17 miles from serpent mound. And my children went to school at a school named after marching Mohawks.

Wow! powerful words, that really touched me. What a wisdom! Why is this great spiritual man not a world leader? Have we become so blind and deaf that we can't recognise inherent wisdom anymore? So arrogant, conceited and aloof to not recognise a simple warning? So stupid , ignorant and detached that we no longer recognise the wood from the trees because the forests are burning? Wake up people, the clock is ticking, the powers that be, no matter the flag they fly, don't give a damn about you, me, my kids, your kids or the other 99% of the worlds population.. 1% AND THE $ AND THE £ IS ALL THESE BASTARDS CARE ABOUT..............WAKE UP, KNOW YOUR ENEMY. Thank you Arvol for clearing the smoke

It is sad that so many people don't take the time to listen thoroughly and properly to the seriousness of the Native messages. I have come to realize it is a grace from above that opens our hearts and minds to want to search, want to learn. I can't believe what I have learned the past while and see now that much was severed/cut off that we needed and didn't cherish. The cleansing will be painful turning into enormous beauty and peace! Miigwetch.....

Then you wish that none of us would have anything except a Teepee, that we would have no modern medicines, that we had none technological devices of any kind, no foods beyond what we could hunt or gather, and that five billion people had never been born. We have all of these things, including your computer, only by tearing the earth apart and making it do our will. I wish Native Americans would stop living in the distant past, stop believing complete nonsense, and come into the twenty-first century.

Peace is the desire of the people this is only true when the spirit is alive and respected in each individual has the greater understanding that we are connected and part of the great spirit once we gain this perspective and truly respect it and our selves equally with a clear mind and healthy body puting the goodness that's required in our selves to maintain the unity balanced and equal body mind spirit each must be fed properly to have balance then peace as the individual must be first, as we join in unity one by one accomplishing out will for peace among us all with love for one another let go of that negative prejudice that devides us currently. This is when it we only try we can have that peace we seek for the prophecy days 1000 years, seek in our hearts this if we try together we will succeed. My language I say God Bless everyone hearing this message, from this wise elder, truth had been spoken here today I'm grateful...
