My husband’s aunt is a florist and she gifted us our floral arrangements as our wedding present, but gave us a budget to stick to. So we did this very thing also. We actually got mostly everything, at least all the flowers and such from Hobby Lobby when they had them on markdown plus she got a florist discount on them too! The flowers we bought were in part cheaper because they weren’t “in season,” but what is in January/February…that’s when we bought it all b/ we got married in March and she needed time to assemble it all since she was doing it after hours. I love that they’re faux flowers and that’s what I wanted from the jump b/ I wanted to be able to hold on to them as keepsakes. My sister ended up doing the same thing for her wedding…they used my husband’s aunt also but paid her, obviously, for their arrangements. Definitely the best way to go.

Are we talking about fresh flowers here? No way right? (Not from the us so not familiar with dollar tree inventory)

Dollar Tree flowers are crap

I'm not a florist but I made 2 beautiful flower pieces with twine, a vase, and flowers they had for the summer. Everyone thought I bought the vase on Amazon but I told them nope I made it. Loved crafting it with my now husband too

Maybe it depends on the location. I can never find good flowers at mine.

@@ajlorentzafter Christmas is one of my favorite times to go to Michael’s. My family once threw an “after Christmas Christmas party” and we got gorgeous clearance stuff for ridiculous deals.

Yes! I got huge beautiful magnolias from Michael's for 99¢ each. They were originally priced at $9.99 each but because of the clearance I got them cheaper than the Dollar Tree. Love them ❤❤❤

I think her point here was to prioritize the event over the challenge. While yes it’s fun to see what she can create from just dollar tree items, they do suck. On the off chance this commenter was really looking to make her wedding center pieces herself, she pushed her in the direction of cheap and accessible while still beautiful, instead of just dollar tree. Yes she COULD have gotten paint from dollar tree that would stink and chip, and she could have spent $50 on the tiny bundles of dust covered half torn flowers from dollar tree to complete the challenge. Or she could spend $5 on a can of spray paint and $20 on much more beautiful flowers somewhere else since they were on sale

Facts I did majority of my wedding decor with dollar tree stuff and things I thrifted and created an amazing wedding it didn't even look like it was from dollar tree

Yeah my bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets were almost entirely dollar store (added a few to mine from Hobby Lobby because I wanted specific flowers). I think they looked great and I get to always have my flowers on display in my house, I still love them

@@Violet_Roseeit’s not though lol the glass and foam are from dollar tree but the spray paint and the flowers are from two other non-dollar stores. So she built the base with DT stuff, but everything else that makes it pretty and wedding-like didn’t come from a dollar store.

Yeah I got flowers from there too and I still have them in pretty good shape after years so…

I buy flowers from dollar tree and make arrangements for the cemetery. They hold up for months until the next holiday and most of them keep their color. For $1.25 each that's a great deal. I also get flowers pots and florist foam at dollar tree. Since some "people" decide to steal from the cemetery it's way too expensive to get flowers from anywhere else but if people want to steal your arrangements then it must look nice!

I don't think the dollar store sells spray paint. And she said she doesn't recommend the dollar tree flowers because they're obviously bad quality and look so. And she's right. If you don't mind your flowers falling apart and visibly looking like cheap sh!t then go on ahead

Exactly, and when you can’t find certain products, you then learn to improvise. When someone says they are making a “Dollar Tree wedding center piece”, all products must be from Dollar Tree, because that’s obviously the whole assignment, the whole entire point of the video. This title is however clickbait!!

Maybe her local store didn’t have anything workable. You can still take the ideas she did give using dollar store stuff and find dollar store flowers if that is all you can afford. Problem solved.

And they usually have coupons as well!
