Dollar tree yarn is good for making dish cloths and carry bags.

I found some crochet hooks at the dollar store as well, with plastic handle and metal hook, those are some of my favorites.

The last yarn I found at Dollar Tree was a discontinued Bernat Viva. I miscalculated how much I'd need for a project I was designing myself and needed 2 more skeins. I couldn't find anymore anywhere except eBay and the seller wanted WAY too much for it. I suggest, if buying yarn from Dollar Tree, buy more than you think you'll need.

Calling yarn "just cotton" and making it only 85% cotton is... confusing

The Just Yarn (Acrylic) at the dollar tree is really good. I don't like the just cotton either, but the just yarn that is 100% acrylic is a lot better!!

I'm brand new to crochet and finding these cheaper tools has helped me out alot since Im also on a budget... I still bought some more expensive hooks, but I like being able to get some at Dollar Tree if I wanna get more sizes really cheap. Tried the metal hooks at dollar tree too, the handles are a bit to get used to but I like em. Thanks for making these videos, btw. They've been super helpful for me to find new ideas, new techniques and new tools and tricks to be thrifty but also make some really nice things!

I got my first crochet hook and yarn at dollar tree and thats where i started my crocheting! I still use my first one from there and i love it a lot and its rlly sturdy. Def reccomend for a kid starting to crochet or someone on a budget wanting to start a hobby

I am making a blanket with the yarn from the dollar tree. I like the yarn and I haven't had any problems at all with splitting. I am using boye hooks that makes a difference. I have not washed it yet, hopefully it will hold up. Thank you for your reviews

I love the hooks too. I have even preferred them over some much nicer that I have...I love that I rarely split the yarn with these hooks and the finish give an almost self adjusting tension to different fibers. And it's just plastic so that's interesting to me. My husband whittled out some handled from thick wood dowels and they snugly friction fit into the center holes and havent budged , however there was a small gap at the opening because the center hole is one width and the hook of course has shape to it. I just used my glue gun and a gold sparkly hot glue stick also from dollar tree and just put a little in there to close it up and smoothed it with my finger. The gold really worked well and blended with the wood. It was a blond wood to begin with which I sanded and oiled and it took on a shiny almost pearly gold cast so the glue kind of melted into that and even though every size hook is a different pastel color it just goes well with all of them and they literally don't look cheap or like some tacky diy fail. Lol and I have 6 hooks but one dowel wide enough is less than a dollar and could probably do a dozen so it's a pretty good deal. :)

Just Cotton Yarn works fine for washcloths. I knit with it and stitches look totally fine. it is not a smooth cotton, has a bit of raggedy/rustic/tweedy feel and look. I don't understand why giving it only 2.5 stars. I would give it 4.

Good idea putting pencil grips at end of those plastic hooks to make them ergonomic. That’s would do the trick! Make them very comfortable to hold and more sturdy.

Love that Dollar tree has these. I've made a very nice bag out of there yarn. I didn't have that spacing issue. Daiso has good hooks but small crochet and knitting supplies.

First of all, your hair looks fab in this video! Secondly, those flexible, plastic crochet hooks would be very good for those with arthritis, joint, or muscle issues because they warm up in the hand and they’re flexible so they conform to the hand. I hope my Dollar Tree starts carrying those soon because I definitely want some.

The dollar tree is great for any beginning!! I started back in July and instead of spending $$$ at Michael's I can spend more than half of that at Dollar Tree.

I bought many packs of the crochet hooks in all of the different sizes. I love the them all. A couple hooks had a snag.

I have several different hooks then i saw your video after you posted it i stopped at my local dollar tree and purchased the hooks i love these and dont have too worry about losing them when i take a project with me

Instead of pencil grips I get the foam hair rollers at Dollar Tree, pull out the roller rod, insert hook. Just more ergonomic than the pencil grips, something I need these days! ☺. Love your top!

Those plastic hooks are perfect for flying with. If TSA is having a bad day and makes you toss it, no big deal. I would cry if it was one of my Clover hooks.

I have the same 4mm and 4.5mm hook set, they’re good. I couldn’t find a 4mm hook anywhere near me. Also you can’t blame a hook for dropping yarn, that’s user error. The yarn is Dollar Tree exclusives. Go down a hook size if it’s too “gappy” it’s thinner and of course you can’t rely on the label suggestions.

My mom just bought me a crazy crochet dream haul! I got the crochet hooks with plastic handle and metal hook, and the plastic ones. Over 10 bales of yarn, knitting needles (I use them for some of my patterns) and a yarn needle.

Fun tip, the Just Cotton yarn’s splitting property may make it poor for crocheting but excellent as embroidery thread, and a dollar for 104 yards, trust me, that’s a steal

A piercing tool is a great idea. I usually just use a smaller hook to pierce the towel.

I can’t express how much I appreciate your channel. I used the just cotton yarn to do a waffle Steichen scarf and hat using a 3.5 hook,it took twice the amount of yarn but turned out great and very thermal. The friend to which I gifted it was in china and he loved it and said it was ideal for the weather and very light weight.

I haven't been to dollar tree in a while. I didn't even know they had crochet craft items. I will definitely check them out online in a minute lol. I purchased some plastic hooks from Etsy I believe it was and I paid a dollar each for them. I absolutely love them. They are better than the wooden ones I got a few weeks ago. They glide really nice through the yarn and pickup without fail unlike the wooden ones. I had to take a nail file to some of the wooden ones bcz they had large burrs around the necks that would snag my yarn. My plastic ones are very sturdy too. This was a very nice review😊. All I can say is that I picked up a hook on vacation from a dollar tree (a plastic handle ergonomic style one with an aluminum hook? Similar to the clover shown in the beginning) and I have used it for months tirelessly for months with no problems.

the pearsing tool would be great for making baskets with gallon milk jugs. same idea as making holes for the towel.
