Decluttering/destashing is a part of collecting and one is long overdue for me. I've moved around so much and didn't really have a chance to go through my stuff UNTIL TODAY!! The great destashing begins now! To take on this task, I decided to use the '30 Day Decluttering Game' method where you declutter 1 item on day 1, 2 items on day 2... so on and so forth. At the end of 30 days, I should have decluttered 465 items. BUT!! I'm making it more challenging for me by trying to make it 500 items. Can I do it? Join me as I begin this month long journey!

It’s hard decluttering as a collector because collections often gain value, and listing slows everything down. I usually donate what doesn’t sell within a few weeks. Congratulations on your hard work!!!

Destashing and decluttering always makes a mess when you’re in the middle of it 😂 I am a “stressed by mess” person so I had to constantly remind myself that the mess would go away when I was done decluttering.

You are so brave letting go of 500 pieces of your collection must be so tough but I completely understand being a mom ALL of your priorities shifted! OMG!!!! The crazy part is I am only 1/10 way there 🤣 I knew it wasn’t going to be easy but it’s definitely going to be harder than I thought. Over the years, i’ve seen so many collector friends become parents and see their priorities shift and now that I’m in their boat, I totally get it. I thought if it was going to be hard, make it a game. Haha! Ari will be happy to know that her taste is Gabe approved!👌

Being a new parent is so hard, you gotta really work as a team so you don't lose your hobbies and all your free time to baby care time. Glad your partner is working with you so you can still have you time :) A destash like this would be so overwhelming for me but the idea of doing it a day at a time sounds so nice and like so much better than the stress of everything you have in front of you all at once. Ive been considering sending a few of my G1 dolls off to new homes but just getting them down and getting all their accessories out of storage feels like a lot @.@

So true! Parenting is definitely a team effort and I am so happy to have such an amazing partner for it. Ari has been pretty generous to these new first time parents though - other than when she's gassy and hungry, she is all in all a very easy baby ❤️ I've tried to destash all at once before but always failed. Like you said, it can be so stressful when you see so much stuff in front of you. A challenge/game like this is definitely a better way to tackle the job :)

I've been watching your channel for years now. You were the first adult collector I found in my 20s when I was interested in collecting toys as well. I'm glad that we are both still collecting. Your little girl is so beautiful. I love seeing you as a mom. I usually do" no toy buy" months for July and November each year. I think I will also try your destashing chart for July as well.
