Dolly is Miley's godmother. So it would make sense that Miley would have mannerisms like Dolly. Also Dolly Parton wrote this song it's based on a true story from her life. She's an awesome songwriter and singer. ❤

Dolly Parton is not just an awesome songwriter, as the songwriter of the song 'I Will Always Love You' she is the most successful female songwriter of all time.

This song is actually a true story about Dolly’s childhood. The coat of many colors is on display at Dollywood. She had a very poor and interesting childhood. Dolly is Miley’s godmother, so of course she’s picked up a lot of tips from Dolly. They actually have a few songs that they perform together. I’ve never been a big fan of Miley but when you hear her with Dolly it’s like she steps her game up and shows off her vocal tools.

Dolly’s coat of many colors is on display at her museum at DollyWood. It’s small in size as a child would wear but oh so large in making such a super star and icon she is.
@sandramooreАй бұрын
That coat is not the original. The family was poor and when Dolly outgrew it, the coat was handed down. Dolly was child # 4 out of 12 children. No one knew it would become famous, so nobody saved it. That is a recreation on display.

Dolly is a Country Music Queen. And yes, Miley Cyrus has a great voice. People tend to dismiss that, but she is very talented. And, in her defense, there is an interview with Miley where she talks about how once she turned 18, she was under a lot of pressure from those around her to become more provocative and shed the good girl image. Sadly, she's not the first who has faced that pressure.
@JohnPaul-hm2ys4 ай бұрын
I think the message of the song is powerful. It was made into a movie about 10 years ago. As for Miley, you can find a lot of postings of she and Dolly performing together, and you can see the respect Miley has for Dolly.

Dolly is a legendary singer and from all accounts a great human being. She created Dollywood partly to help the local economy so that people in the area would good paying jobs in an area where thats rare. Then she has her book program giving free books to school age children. The song itself is amazing too. Miley CAN sing she just recently started using that voice. If I remember correctly Dolly is Miley's God Nother.

If you want to be moved by a song you need to watch Dolly’s live performance at the CMA’s singing “He’s Alive”. Should check out her new rock album that she did for her husband because he prefers rock over country.

She said her husband helped her pick out the songs,but she did the album because she was inducted to the rock n roll hall of fame so she decided she better make a rock album

@@wgj4everlong426 very true, I also never knew her husband did not tour with her and never went to one of her concerts. He’s always been very supportive but just prefers to stay at home after retirement and work on projects he likes. He I believe was a very successful business man with his own company.

Dolly Parton and NBC made an made for tv movies the first one is called Coat Of Many Colors and the second one is called The Christmas of Many Colors Jennifer Nettles from the country music band Sugarland plays Dolly Parton's mom and Ricky Shroder plays Dolly Parton's dad , both movies are good, and it s a must watch to understand the upbringing and the childhood of Dolly Parton.

Linda Ronstadt also has perfect pitch - check out her "La Charreada" from her "Songs of my Father" album - her vocals are AWESOME!!!! I remembering seeing her preform this on SNL & was simply blown away with my mouth hanging open - she was freaking unbelievable - & I am a die-hard Linda 'The Voice' fan from way back on day 1!!!!! There is a reason Dolly did a collaboration album with Linda & another pitch perfect Emily Lou Harris ~~ they are in the same league with her!!!!! Linda ROCKS!!!

I remember when this song was released in around 71 or 72. I was in high school and kind of getting away from liking country music. But this song got me. The story of Joseph was my favorite Bible story. And of course Dolly was always amazing. As for Miley, some of her antics make me cringe, but I absolutely love her voice. Flowers is one of my favorites from her. And I think she received a Grammy for it.

Dolly has always been a pleasurable listen, and yes Dustin she has numerous attributes to her credit. On a family vacation many years ago, we almost got inside Dolly world. Between the humidity and the long wait line, one of the elder of our group wasn't up to standing that long in the heat. I promised myself next trip no excuses, so I have the regret, but never got the next trip. Sadly, life gets in the way sometimes! Good review as always.

The moment Miley started twerking with her toungue hanging out. Dolly would have disowned her. I will lose basically ALL respect for Dolly if its Cyrus. And everyone else should too. Nobodys life or career is big enough or philanthropic enough to justify that.

First of all, Dolly is a great entertainer but she is also just a stellar human being, which I wish more people knew. As far as Miley, so you are seeing a direct example of nature vs nurture, as Dolly though not blood is family and had a direct influence on Miley's raising and becoming an artist. Also, I would suggest two songs to go look at Dustin. Miley's Used to be Young and she did a cover of Nothing Else Matters, with Metallica. She can sing, and the weird you have seen... that has toned down as she has grown up. Obviously can't do on the channel as they are not country. Also if you want to see Miley and Dolly side by side, there are a lot of duets of them out there, including Jolene and I love Rock and Roll. Miley's rasp and Dolly's pure voice go very well together. And of course Dolly covered Miley's Wrecking ball, on her newest Album Rock Star... you should listen to that too, but it is rock with a lot of really cool duets. Thanks guys, as always great job.

I’ve heard Miley do many amazing covers but this one is next level INSANELY CRAZY GOOD!! Powerful vocals for DAYS! It made me wish Miley would do a rock album ASAP! Dolly is Miley’s Godmother and she is most definitely one of her biggest influences, if not THE biggest. Miley has discussed the impact Dolly has had and continues to have on her life and career in many interviews over the years. Miley, like Dolly, can sing almost any genre of music with amazing vocals that make you feel something because she sings with her heart and soul!! I know yall will love the Metallica cover with Metallica, it’s EPIC 🔥🔥🔥

They did a sweet song called 'Rainbowland' & the morons in a Wisconsin school banned it, because they say rainbows are about the LGBTQ world, & the song obviously promoted that. Jesus.
