Let's be honest, the breathtaking beauty of the Dolomite mountain passes comes with a downside-traffic. As cyclists, we cherish the quieter roads during the off-season, but once the tourist season begins, it can feel like a motorized vehicle Armageddon. While some may say it's not that bad, we know deep down that it's a luxury compared to the traffic they face back home.
But fear not! We've found our escape routes, like the late afternoon Sellaronda ride ( • Afternoon Sellaronda b... ) or the scenic farm roads of Val Badia valley. In this video, we introduce you to the Mirí - Rina cycling loop, affectionately renamed the Mirí(cle) loop by our friend Jered Gruber. It truly is a miracle how blissfully quiet this road remains.

I saw in 2020 a lot of trees down in San Martino di Castrozza and Predazzo area,sadly the trees not was harvested fast enough and the bug's (Ips Typogaphus) first time attack the fallen trees and after the healthy ones.Unfortunately, only a cold rainy spring and summer will stop them,I know because I'm a forrester Is a great video again from you,I spent the last five holidays in Dolomites in winter,I hope in 2024 some bike days in your area.

Well ... so far this 2023 was cold in spring and except 1 really hot week in July it was really rainy. Let's see what happens if August remains like it is now ... this morning we had 4°C and right now (midday) it's 16°C. It looks like the whole week will remain like this.

Great videos! I love the St Martin Mira Antermoia Rina Zwisschwasser route, starting from Mira is just about as tough as from Zwischenwasser. I've extended your ride from Rina to Onies, Elle, Rio Mara and Montal, adding a little piece to an already very nice ride. Amazing how different this ride is depending on where you start. Enough challenges in this area, lots of quiet roads and steep ascents (Rio Mara > Elle for instance) . I've found life is easiest on these rides if you can plan to have a bit of shade, at least in the hardest climes. The last two years I've ridden lots of roads in this very pretty part of the world, hard work but very satisfying. Lapping Kronplatz, Fannes hutte, Sella, Falzuarego, Antermoia, Passo della Erbe, Bruneck > Percha > Muhlbach > Uttenheim > Bruneck and much more fun.

From our experience, we often see cyclists visiting our place and hotel who tend to focus solely on riding the Dolomite passes. Only a few realize (or trust us when we suggest it) that heading north opens up a whole new world of cycling. In fact, I like to use this analogy... riding the Sellaronda is like circling a roundabout, similar to going to France and only cycling around the Arc de Triomphe. While it's undoubtedly beautiful, why limit yourself when there's an entire country to explore? 😂😉

@@UstariaPosta agreed, also with the analogy. Sella is nice and compact as a challenge with great views but there's so much more. I could happily spend the rest of my life cycling around in the Brixen-Merano-Dobbiacio-Cortina box.

Vengo in vacanza sulle dolomiti ogni anno utilizzando i mezzi di trasporto che in Trentino sono organizzati benissimo, questo proprio per gustarmi la montagna senza il rumore e la puzza delle macchine. Da due anni a questa parte mi sembra che la situazione si stia capovolgendo...tutti con la macchina su e giù per i vari passi....e non si sente che il rumore e non si respira che la puzza delle auto. Così diventa difficile godersi le vostre meravigliose montagne. Grazie per i preziosi consigli...ho provato Passo Giau e Passo delle Erbe 🙂

Bello vedere come le nostre strade si incrocino così spesso. Il giorno 16 percorrevo la strada Rina-Antermoia per il verso opposto al tuo, proveniente da San Lorenzo per raggiungere il Passo delle Erbe. Un giorno o l'altro ci incontreremo a fare un pezzo di salita insieme, mi raccomando vai piano però, sennò non ti sto dietro....

Ciao Igor I follow you on you tube and I am visiting Alta Badia for the Maratona. I was hoping to do the Miri Rina loop you showed. However I thought I heard you say in one video that there had been a landslide on the route. Is that right?

Mirí has been closed for road works, right now they are still working there but with a bike you can go through.

Non pensavo che in Alta Badia ci fossero così tanti alberi morti per il Bostrico. Quasi peggio della valle di Fiemme . Voi non avete avuto tanti schianti di Vaia. In val di Fiemme si dice che il bostrico è dilagato grazie ai tronchi lasciati in terra. Ma anche in Alta valle la situazione è così drammatica?

In effetti la Val Badia é stata risparmiata in gran parte da Vaia. Il problema é stato l'autunno seguente con le grandi nevicate di Novembre quando il terreno non era ancora ghiacciato e gli abeti sono caduti come mattoncini di domino sotto il peso della neve. Ho proprio un video di quando ero anche io bloccato in strada a causa della caduta di alberi mentre "spazzavano" la neve con l'elicottero: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b52nf5OflsW2nnU.html

@graveleaffini in quale zona dell'altipiano? In Verena, larici melette valmaron mercesina la situazione non mi sembra male anzi. Aver iniziato subito a pulire ha dato i suoi frutti

@@paolobinetti535 zona Cesuna hanno tagliato un' intera area 'contaminata' dal bostrico se tu osservi anche i boschi sopra Roana Mezzaselva sono tutti a macchie ovvero già morti in 60giorni 🥲nessuno ne parla ma farà più danni del CET Vaia non tempesta
